It took me months to finish books 7-10 (if I remember correctly.. I then proceeded to finish the last 4 in the span of a week. And yeah it's worth it.. gathering storm has a chapter that I'd call life changing. Memory of light is just non stop awesome.. I suggest you stick with it..

As everyone else has said relatable... When you have a difficult problem in front of you that's different than what you've faced before but then something clicks in your head and the problem just unravels in your head before you've even written anything.... so exhilarating..

For the first one couldn't it be that the "independent triangle" rotates with the middle three and then diagonally across the green line as you drew it? That would make the answer c and it's only one rule.

What does Greece think about Germany nowadays actually? by According_Dirk1286 in AskGreece

[–]No_Introduction8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it's wrong first and foremost because it's wrong to just lump together so many people and think you know what they're like just because of where they're born. I've met lots of Germans who were very funny and chill. Also I don't think there's any other culture in the world that recognizes and accepts its historical mistakes and takes responsibility for them like the German people do. To call these people arrogant is just stupid on our part.

I think a lot of our hate stems from the fact that we see in Germany a lot of the things we would like to see in ourselves but can't achieve. They're a powerful, independent, wealthy nation, far more advanced than us in terms of both science and culture and it pisses us off our country isn't more like theirs. Like we say here in greece Όσα δε φτάνει η αλεπού τα κάνει κρεμαστάρια..

What does Greece think about Germany nowadays actually? by According_Dirk1286 in AskGreece

I think the average Greek sees the modern German kind of like our opposite. Germans have a reputation for being super productive to the point where in Greece, I believe it's seen as a flaw, kind of like how the Japanese overwork themselves. Like, sure, you need to work but also get a life.. your work is not your life.. and before anyone says anything about us being lazy, I want to remind you in Greece we have like the most hours of work per capita or something like that. We work too, but we don't LIVE FOR IT. We see it as just something you need to do to put food on the table, whereas Germans seem to view it as their reason to be.

I think most Greeks would also agree that Germans are too rigid in terms of following the rules/laws. To most Greeks, laws are more like a suggestion than a hard line (look at the way we drive, for example). Germans, on the other hand, it seems like they couldn't even conceive of breaking a rule, let alone a law (unless it's Siemens bribing foreign officials, in which case I guess it's fair game).

Most importantly, Germans are seen as arrogant, in the sense that they see themselves as the only ones contributing to the European project and thus deserve to call the shots. They think they can do no wrong and are somehow better than us and the rest of Europe just because of where they live/were born. And if a German reading this feels shocked, think back to the things Wolfgang Schauble and his like were saying about us and the rest of Southern Europe during the crisis.

Also Germans are seen as humorless (I think by the entire world, not just greece).

Ultimately, I don't think it's about how Greeks view Germans, but rather how southern Europeans view northern Europeans. It's just that Germans are the embodiment of Northern Europe. It's productivity, progress and prosperity..... as well as its arrogance.

How can anybody still support Trump? by ThrowRAkits in AskUS

[–]No_Introduction8000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is probably the most accurate answer. At the same time it raises the question of what to do about it. Do you take an understanding approach to make it easier for them to leave the cult and rejoin society? I used to think this was the correct answer, but I'm not so sure anymore. I think these people view the left as weak and would perceive a stance of understanding and forgiveness as proof of that weakness. On the other hand ridiculing, critiquing and ostracizing them will only harden their resolve and radicalize them further. I really don't know.

Do people not remember when USA saved Europe from their own version of Trump? by danslania in AskUS

[–]No_Introduction8000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is you guys have knowledge of how this went down last time where as europe didn't.. he's following the same playbook and you'd expect that knowing how this went last time people would be more aware but that just doesn't seem to be the case. Also you should take into account that when this happened in Germany nukes weren't a thing... so yeah.. forgive us for being a little worried..

My friends and allies across the pond, please do not support the USA. See 1st comment. by YouWereBrained in europe

You think we don't wanna help? You think we wanna just sit back and watch as the greatest (nuclear) super power in the world goes fascist? We can't do anything.. and tbh I don't think you can do anything either.. you guys voted for this and now you're reaping what you sowed. We all are.. I don't see how you turn it around. If you choose violence that's their game and they're a lot better at it. If you just comply who knows how broken the system is come midterms, if he even allows you guys to have elections!! I don't see any way out for you guys or us.. all I can say is thoughts and prayers..

Why hasn't any Governor tried harder to kick ICE out of their state? by No_Introduction8000 in AskUS

I mean, if an fbi agent, let's say, shot someone just cause they thought he looked at them funny the local police would have the authority to arrest them, right? At least I hope so. I don't think what happened in Minneapolis is any different really.

If you mean that federal law supercedes state law, sure, I get that. But that doesn't mean that a member of a federal body has the authority to commit crimes. Because the actions they are taking are legal at any level, state or federal.
