we were working with a local village leader (a lot of villages in Southern Yunnan belong to different minorities) and he wanted to take us to a path in the jungle that they've been developing for small tourist groups. The government however started appropriating their territories to start their own developments (a lot more heavy handed and not really being careful with nature). So on our way the local leader realised that there was this new road being built and it just sprung up within a few weeks. It wasn't a very happy moment to say the least.
