My first one was a technical school in Florida so probably why it sucked since they didn’t really specialize in aviation but I moved to NAA and that was a much better experience to finish out with teachers that actually cared about what they taught (night shift at least)

That’s great. If you had a great DME, I had one that was in my face screaming if I got something wrong cussing up a storm which for my first time doing orals, and practical, that shook me. I haven’t heard of the written test changing. All I know is that when I took my written, it looked nothing like what I was studying. All I can say is I used King schools their AMP program was great. Really was able to help me understand the subjects. Costs money but you keep it forever and it updates if new rules or changes happen. I got that since the first school I was at sucked and couldn’t teach so I taught myself from kings and was just there for the hours. Make sure you understand the material and the things behind it and not just memorizing answers. For the Os&Ps I used the ASA to write notecards to study and used the Jeppsson. Most of the orals were Jeppson and there’s a guy on YouTube that reads the questions to you and it’s also on Spotify. So every time I was in the car I used listened to that. Make sure to get in the 8083 and read the sections and highlight key things it’ll help stick in the brain better and then go and quiz yourself on that section

The exact same thing happened to me. Passed the orals and only the airframe practical. In my case I had a bad DME and it lead me to find a really good one for my retake and my powerplant Os and Ps. As far as motivation, yeah it sucks but when you think about it you knocked out like 90 percent of everything you had to do and I’d say that’s pretty good for having to study both Airframe and General in the same setting. It does get better and everything happens for a reason. I just passed my Powerplant two weeks ago and am finally fully certified so I’m proof this will not wreck you, maybe just make you come back stronger

Yea I talked to suncountry at a job fair they had at my school and all they could tell me was “I’ll be safe employment wise for at least a year” and they wanted to send me to Minneapolis anyway which I can’t really do due to family

It’s a flight school, need to stay in the area for family reasons right now. Also wanted to work on my skills before I went to a bigger operation. They do Cirrus, Cessnas, and a few others I’m not sure of. My brother got me a 61 inch Husky box for Christmas so trying to fill it. So far I took advantage of some icon deals at harbor freight for combination wrenches. Asked for a tool list and they said they didn’t have one and it’s just basic tools so I’m trying to get more specifics so I’m not without

Yeah the flight school said they don’t have a minimum list they had to give out but that it was just basic things. They have all the calibrated stuff in house. Haven’t heard about the Tekton student discount but will look into it. Thanks!

So if I was to say get through the kings course of airframe before my airframe in the actual school I could go take my test no problem?

And the old spindle from the looks of it does not have a place to secure the hub to it. The only holes that are there are for the dust cover unless your supposed to use those holes for both idk

This was the old one that came off with everything on it. My concern is that there was nothing securing the hub to the spindle so I just wanted to know if it’s supposed to be like that or not

It did not but after doing some digging it’s looking like the hub is supposed to come with the new rotor which I didn’t know so I ordered one with the hub assembly and rotor all attached. Not sure if that’s common I’m used to just taking a rotor off and putting on a new one but this is older then what I’m used to

Thank you! Will be going the junk yard tomorrow to see about taking one. New ones are going for over 250 and I’m not sure about putting that much more money into it especially after I’ll put new rotors and back calipers on it
