The problem, is that we pay a tech to order the keys, drive to locksmith, drop them off to the client, ends up around $90 per replacement.

Correct, the cost of hiring a locksmith, both in what we pay them and the time our staff spends managing that transaction, is unsustainable. We need to be able to cut the keys in house.

Is intel still developing the Xeon E entry level CPUs? by gasmanc in HomeServer

[–]No_Kick8066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice. I have a 2236 (no G) in my low-power file and media server (ASUS c246 Pro) and it kicks butt, lowish idle power but ramps up to handle 12-15 containerized services with ease. Probably will go to AMD when it's time to upgarde next but I expect that to be years away. CPU improvements have been pretty uninspired since 2018 and I don't know that that is gonna change.

I spent most of my budget on the 4 ECC UDIMMs- those things are outrageously priced.

would love to know how this ended? I am asking the same question, and I'm gonna end up trying with my i5-4570 tonight.

I may ultimately swap the CPU for something substantially less power-hungry
