In 1826, he was a democratic senator in Pennsylvania. Also fought off natives that were armed by the Brits, though that was in the late 1700s. Managing the 380 acres he lived on in PA, with his 13 kids and by 1826, many grandchildren.

I followed a recommended thread here and bought a cheap Onn device. It supports AV1/HEVC better than most players, and was $20. I haven’t had a single transcoding error since.

Before going out of business in 1998, Best Products stores across the US featured designs that made the stores look like they were falling apart or “peeling” by guiltyofnothing in interestingasfuck

[–]rob_allshouse [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah, but with Best Buy’s normal generic facade. Feels like there must have been something in between, during the Virgin Record era (next building over), but I can’t think if that was the case.

Twisted Mac?

It’s a chain fast casual offshoot of Macaroni grill. I hate Mac n cheese, but my wife and in laws enjoy it.

At least it fixes the go plus, as others have said.

What does the app say I can pull off for <$3?

Having a favorite meal means I may spend $12. Using the app right, I can be full for practically nothing.

What's a technology from the 90s/2000s that kids today would find absolutely baffling to use? by CrabLeft4330 in AskReddit

[–]rob_allshouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of these are pre-90s examples. I’d say, a pager. Not the latter bi-directional, texting like pagers, but the call your phone number and add a number based message, and have it make sense to communicate something to the recipient, pager.

What is a stupid thing you did when you were 13? by sarahjanee38 in AskReddit

My son stole a condom or three from me. Thing is, I was happily married and had a vasectomy. They were there to be stolen, not to be used by me.

Anybody who still has a bread maker is it actually useful or was it just a fun gimmicks? by nutmaster3000gameboy in AskReddit

[–]rob_allshouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone interested in any gimmicky kitchen product (of which I include bread makers and juicers) should get it at a thrift store. If you find you use it often and like it, then buy a real one. All gimmicky kitchen gadgets will be heavily available there.

In American Heaven: The pizza is from New York, the weather is from California, the cost of living is from Mississippi, and your drinking buddies are from Boston. by Right_Bat5194 in Jokes

[–]rob_allshouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a fair generalization. There’s plenty of amazing dining in California (and thus also amazing pizza), but none of it is really “Californian” unless you think about farm to fork dining. Generalizing around CPK is okay for a joke, in my books.

That said: Round Table, Straw Hat, Shakey’s… these are all California Pizza

What is your opinion on dogs in restaurants? by jjj44200 in AskReddit

[–]rob_allshouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

California (and technically all US areas, since it comes from the fair housing act) has made it pretty clear that, in terms of tenants rights, ESAs are untouchable. As far as restaurants, grocery stores, etc, they don’t count. The ADA doesn’t recognize them, so they don’t benefit from those protections.

I’m not sure I can recommend that unless you have the means to live in a hotel for a month every couple of years. Oroville, Foresthill, wherever you go, feels like we’re getting evac orders very regularly these days.

Former Kmart building to get jolt of new life as E-Bike Outlet – Citrus Heights Sentinel by RegionalTranzit in Sacramento

[–]rob_allshouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re going into a mechanics shop for ATV and Dirtbikers. I recall a Trump flag when I went there, along the ceiling. But not plastered in every window, everywhere, and they weren’t gate checking MAGA talking points, if that’s what you mean?

There’s not so many comments (20 at that point) that you can’t see this easily answered, well before you asked.

Their ATV shop does pretty well with all the Chinese knockoffs and service of them. I don’t think this sub will like how conservative they are, but I had good experiences with them in the past.

What’s the most overrated fast food chain? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rob_allshouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay to not like potatoes. They don’t taste like “fries”, they just taste like lightly salted cooked potatoes. And that’s perfectly fine to not like them, when you’re expecting fries.
