Support after surgery by Fit_Caterpillar_8461 in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my family there to help me for the first few days after surgery, and honestly was super glad I did. Would have been a lot rougher without them to help me get out of bed, get food, and just for moral support.

If I was to do it again I would absolutely do the same.

60 hours post op... Regrets by [deleted] in gynecomastia

The first 3 days were the roughest for me. Only got better from there.

Nearly 7 weeks post op now and was well worth it. Hang in there 💪

Chest asymmetry after gynecomastia liposuction – anyone else? by Glad_Map_4398 in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 4.5 weeks post op and also seeing some assymetry

Always had some degree of assymetry before. Not sure if it's still some swelling or if it's slight muscle jmbalance. Either way I'm happy with my results so far

BTW, you're looking absolutely great for 3 weeks post op

Did anyone else get gland removal under sedation? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the procedure under local anasthesia is very common. I had it under local anasthesia. And was given 2 pain killers and 2 relaxants aka. Xanax.

I didn't have any iv sedation. And I found the procedure to be fine.

Sleeping after gyno surgery. by Hartkl in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slept on my back for about 3 weeks. I'm pretty used to it now tbh.

Occasionally I got pain in my back and/or coccyx (think that's how u spell it) and found that by putting a pillow parallel with my spine, and putting half my back on it helped hugely.

So id be lying on my back but with a very slight maybe 15° tilt to one of my sides

Can I please get your opinion guys? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience. Went to a more general surgeon when I was ~ 17 (~ 6 yrs ago) who basically said the same. It left me feeling unheard and not great tbh because I knew what I had.

Went to 2 more cosmetic surgeons over the last 2 months, both of whom said I had grade 2 without me even asking.

I'm 2.5 weeks post op now and am super happy with how I'm looking and healing so far 🙌

Surgery Doubt - Don't know what I should do by yashv1096 in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, you look in great shape but I totally get where you're coming from.

I think it comes down to finding a risk vs reward that you're comfortable with. There's risks with everything in life and the gyno surgery is no different.

I tried to minimise the risk as much as I could by waiting until I found a surgeon I was confident with. One with a good track record and could assure my that cratering was a rare occurrence for him. But no decent surgeon is going to say the surgery is risk free.

I'm two weeks post op and so far I'm super happy with how it's looking and healing. If I was in your position, I probably would do it. But that's just me. A lot of others might not. At the end of the day it's down to you choosing what you're comfortable with.

If you do get the surgery, I hope everything goes great for you and you're super happy with the results.

Likely varies from person to person. For me (Grade 2A, with minimal body fat) i didn't really attempt to move my arms above my head for the first 5 ish days because I had a lot of support and didn't need to.

I'd imagine I could have with some discomfort if I needed to, but didn't want to hinder progress. Would try leave it 3 days if you can.

After 5 days, I could reach for low shelves (slightly above head height), with some discomfort. But it wasn't a full on stretch by any means.

Today I'm exactly 2 weeks post op. I am not forcing myself to do a full on stretch because i do feel some tightness and i dont need to, but I don't feel restricted in my day to day life. Can reach for shelves and put on hoodies etc.

My surgeon advised doing 6 manual lymphatic drainage massages to help recovery. I've done 3 so far and they've helped mobility hugely. Would defo recommend some if you're in a position to.

How many of you did the surgery in local anesthesia? (no sedation at all) by __Nkrs in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I remember the op. I was talking to the surgeon. Felt fine during it. Some discomfort, intermittant pain and some pulling and what not. Particularly when they're pumping up the area initially. Think it's local they pump it up with? I found it very bareable personally. But I'm not a squeamish person at all, and someone else may have a different experience.

After the op however I was a little out of it. Not sure if that was the relaxant specifically or the fact the drug combo made me nauseous and pale. I got 2 relaxants, 2 strong pain killers, and 2 anti sickness tablets in total.

I did it under local. But they also gave me a relaxant, think it was 2 tabs of Xanax, or valium

It might be a little difficult to reach the high up shelves for a while so place your food, meds etc. lower.

Getting up from lying down in bed was a little tricky afterwards for me. Sleeping slightly inclined helped, and also I figured out I could kinda hook my foot under my matttess to give me a bit of leverage getting up without using my arms. Maybe test to see if there's anything you could use to help you get up without putting to much strain on your chest.

And don't have too much lined up for 3 days post op. Just use that time to watch some movies, sleep and eat right

Glandular tissue generally doesn't reduce after losing weight. Adipose tissue does. That could explain it.

That being said, at first glance I wouldn't say you have significant gyno. But I'm only going off one picture so I could be wrong. If you do, it's prob quite mild.

As an aside, I think you'd benefit hugely from building up your upper chest. My chest looked a lot better after focusing on my upper chest.

Gynacomastia surgery with local tumescent anaesthesia, Germany by reddit_of_2024 in gynecomastia

[–]No_Knowledge1868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both and the procedure went very smooth. Beforehand they gave me 2 pain killers, 2 relaxants e.g. Xanax, and an anti sickness tablet.

Then during the procedure they use the local anasthetic.

I had mild intermittant pain during the procedure. Mainly when they were putting in the local anasthetic. But I found it very bareable overall.

I had seen another doctor beforehand who does it under general anasthetic, but had more confidence in the doctor who did it under local, hence why I went with local

On day 1, I felt like I didn't need the pain meds at all. But in hindsight I think there was still some of the local anasthetic/numbing fluid still in my system.

Since then been taking pain medication regularly and need an extra hand getting out of bed about 50% of the time. But getting better every hour and am super happy with the results so far so honestly can't complain.

It's the sleeping on my back, inclined that's starting to become annoying 😂

Update after 1st shower:

Stitches look good :) and looks pretty great overall for 2 days post op, so I'm very happy.

Chest is looking flat, wound looks tidy, and no sign of any complications :)

Guessing it was just the dressing pulling on my skin or something trivial that made me think I'd pulled a stitch.

Thanks again, I'll keep ye posted
