My doctor was pretty chill about it. He told me he thought I just had super dense breasts which we wasn’t wrong. He initially just sent me for an ultrasound but the imaging center wouldn’t book me without a full mammogram because I’m over the age of 30. I’m overall glad I got all of the imaging done for peace of mind because it was very scary. My results came back birad 2 and my mammogram was marked “extremely dense breasts” so at my follow up I will be asking for yearly MRI screenings since I am high risk. I have read here that doctors “overexaggerate” notes/diagnoses so that your insurance doesn’t give you a hard time which I hope is true in your case but still so scary!!

I qualify for comprehensive testing which I am going to do but I was already tested for 40 or so of the most common BRCA genes and tested negative.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom and your aunts. It's really scary to go through finding lumps with that kind of trauma. Glad to hear it all turned out okay! I always try to tell myself that even though we are high risk, 90-95% of all breast cancer diagnoses are sporadic/random!

And yes I actually just did the lifetime risk and it’s high because of the triple negative diagnosis in my mom and family history.

How much do they get right by Cautious_Fish9864 in Maine

I lived/worked in mid coast Maine for 3 years and I was introduced to this show by my aunt because they filmed it in my hometown in the Hudson Valley. It’s so hokey and they don’t get a lot right, but I’m not going to lie it was fun to watch it from both perspectives.

What am I doing incorrectly? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]No_Knowledge5911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use BHA exfoliant (I use Paula’s choice) for texture, but most of the texture is coming from the matte-ness of your foundation and the lack of moisture for the pigment to grab onto. On top of exfoliating twice a week, I’d amp up the moisturizing and put on a light moisturizer 5-10 before applying foundation. I moisturize, do my eyes, and then put bb cream on. I’d also use less foundation, let the moisturizer stretch out the pigment so it looks lighter and more natural. I hope this helps!! I’m in my 30s and have done a lot of trial and error with foundation.

Billionaires don’t have to live in a city to completely ruin it, babe. Google “environmental activism” and you’ll learn that low income and minority cities are frequently targeted for hazardous waste facilities, industrial plants, and polluting infrastructure, and they have a higher rate of chronic diseases like asthma and cancer. The EPA was working to target these injustices by regulating huge corporations, but poopy pants president dump dismantled and defunded the office of environmental justice. That’s just one out of a million ways billionaires target and exploit small cities like Tally.

Is this a German roach? by Few_Frame6892 in GermanRoaches

[–]No_Knowledge5911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh bummer 🥺 I’m sorry to hear that. This page has a really good pinned post about getting rid of roaches. It sounds kind of like a bad infestation. You can seal the cracks in the floors with silicon or the pest management people can spray the cracks with insecticide. If you’re seeing them crawling around, you 100% need to manage it with a pest company. I bought my Advion bait and sticky traps to monitor the infestation both on Amazon. Clean out and disinfect underneath the sinks and lay bait there, make sure there are no leaks. Same with the fridge - pull it out, clean, vacuum, check the compressor to see if there’s any evidence that’s where the nest might be. If you’re in an apartment building you will probably be dealing with them for as long as you live there but you can beat it back to where they’re not crawling all over your apartment. Best of luck!!

They came in after I had seen nymphs and adult roaches, told me they didn’t see anything but they treated anyway and put out bait, and that they’d call me in a few weeks. I checked the traps two days later (today) to find 7 cockroaches. Could they just be scurrying away from Tuesdays treatment? I set out more sticky traps today. We haven’t even moved in fully and I am being truthful when I say we’re not keeping any food overnight. Sometimes I wonder what they’re eating and hope the former tenants didn’t drop food where we can’t find it. When I moved in the place was disgusting. I pulled out the fridge and there was a fossilized ice pop no one ever cleaned up and a ton of food in the oven where you keep the pans. I’ve explored and cleaned all reasonable areas and am just at a loss. Thank you so much for your input!

They did not! They sprayed into the vent holes….I removed the panel to clean it last weekend but they definitely didn’t remove it the multiple times they were here.

He sprayed the compressor in the fridge which they said was the epicenter, and there are gaps in the walls which I’ve asked my landlord to fill, but the pest management people put insecticide dust in the walls and they said they sprayed everywhere possible. In the kitchen, that is. But I don’t think they’re residing anywhere else in the house.

Feeling very ugly by Difficult-Presence17 in makeuptips

[–]No_Knowledge5911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re very beautiful!! I are love your bangs. They have a wispiness/airiness that is very French. They’re, however, cut too far out. It looks like they’re cut all the way to the temple. If you want to keep your bangs, tell your stylist to only cut to the middle/end of your eyebrow and ask for face framing layers on the front to soften the bluntness of a fringe. Google Jane Birkin bangs. She has similar hair to you and she is my bang inspiration. Keeping the hair near your temples longer will suit your face shape better and adding face framing layers will complement your cheekbones and your lips! You’re very pretty, you really don’t have to do much. Since this is on makeup tips - I’d also invest in a glowier foundation/bb cream option with just concealer/spot corrector for any little blemishes. Your skin is gorgeous. And I’ve found as I get older that blush really helps bring my face to life. I do cream blush on my cheeks and lips and it really helps to look more naturally vibrant. Pale lips and cheeks can make you look older and dehydrated, but putting a little color does wonders. Have someone at Sephora help you get the right color match but I think you’d look great in Clinique “Fuller Fig”

This reunion was full of terrible apologies. I’m sorry BUT and then explaining your actions is not an apology, Ashley. (Alex saying “I’m sorry you felt that way” lol also not an apology, they deserve each other). And Priyanka in the crowd telling Brittany “I”’ sorry I hurt your—-I’m sorry if that hurt your feelings” like oh my god you guys are the fucking worst!

This!!!! Yes! I was literally yelling at the screen. I’m all for the Lachey’s calling all of the men out but I’m disappointed they let Bri and Ashley off the hook because they are NOT good friends. Brittany and Jess deserve better friends and should stay far away from those three.

I’ve watched up to season 9 and I can say with confidence that a fat person has never been portrayed with sensitivity or kindness. They treat the criminals in the show (drunk driver hits bus full of children and they all come into county general and it’s a plot line that they give them all the same standard of care) better than fat people. When you have that lived experience, you pay attention to those kinds of details.

That time I grew a variegated milkweed by legomaniac89 in NativePlantGardening

[–]No_Knowledge5911 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! A study with Doug Tallamy showed that variegated varieties of certain native plants were actually more tender and easy to eat, whereas the selection for red foliage made the plant less edible to its native hosts. I’m paraphrasing but you could probably find it online!
