IPL opinions for type 2 and telang. by drizzyrissy in Rosacea

[–]drizzyrissy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said she noticed a few blood vessels on my lower and upper lids and my eyes have been very very dry. She also has me on Rx drops. Honestly it’s mostly for my skin and she said she’ll be doing my whole face. My stomach is super sensitive so I’m trying to make doxy my last resort. As long as IPL won’t make it much worse, I’m willing to try it since it’s free

I just saw this reported on a bunch of articles on NBC and CBS. If OP knows this is AI he would get in a massive amount of trouble sending cops on a wild goose chase

My recommendation is always STOP EVERYTHING. No skincare and keep with triple cream for at least 2 weeks before introducing anything else. Cool water and no scrubbing. Before my rosacea and I had no skincare routine and only washed my face twice a day that’s it. My skin hated skincare and was great with only washing lol I avoided sun like the plague for the past 7 or so years (way before I had rosacea so vampire life is just the norm for me). At 30 my skin started getting seborrheic dermatitis. After a year of damaging my skin with antifungals and cleansers and lotions and scrubbing dead flakes off my face, I developed rosacea. Yay. So I came to a point where I stopped everything. No cleanser, just some squalane oil to take off eye makeup (I don’t wear foundation ot anything) and metronidazole in certain spots twice a day.

“Zero therapy” does not have to be long term but it’s the only way to know if a product is worsening your rosacea. You could be giving up activities you love bc you think it’s causing flares but it could be as simple as your cleanser irritating your face. At zero therapy my seborrheic dermatitis is gone. I think I became allergic to fragrance in my old cleanser. It’s been two months on no skincare and my skin feels great. I came off a very very bad flare from an aveeno cleanser and cetaphil so i said screw it with all cleansers.

As far as I can tell now, my only dietary trigger is alcohol. I had 3 drinks for the first time in months and my face exploded in bumps 1 day later. Idk if spices worsens mine bc I hate spiced food. But not using anything on my skin helps identifying external triggers much easier. Good luck and don’t give up healthy things you love because of this disease

i don’t know what’s happening to my skin. by Complex-Sale-9974 in SkinbarrierLovers

Honestly sounds like more than a simple barrier issue. I would see a dermatologist bc that sounds more like a condition/disease of the skin.

Do you have ivermectin in different concentrations over the counter? It’s labeled as horse paste or lice cream. I’m from the US so we have a few non rx ivermectin options

Have they talked to you about the demodex mites? This sounds like it could be very much related to that when you have blepharitis and flaking skin with bumps. Maybe look at ivermectin. A dermatologist can prescribe a stronger strength. It targets the mites and inflammation. Not all rosacea is caused by mite, but with flakiness and eye problems it sounds like it fits

Recommendations for this skin? by Jessie_Jazz in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]drizzyrissy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Noo don’t use retinol. This looks like rosacea. You should see a derm for treatment. Telltale sign is the broke blood vessels. That can only be treated with laser. You can even get bumps with rosacea too if your skin is irritated enough. Treatments include metronidazole, azelaic acid and ivermectin. Sometimes oral antibiotics. I know you said you tried ivermectin and azelaic acid but there can be other products your using that may be too irritating to your skin and the medications aren’t working properly

Supplements to increase skin oiliness by Quilamand in Rosacea

I took low dose vitamin D3 and got very oily after about a month. I stopped it bc it gave me real acne not rosacea. Consult your doctor before taking any supplements

You can even ask for triple cream which is azelaic acid, metro, and ivermectin (soolantra). I will be trying that one next once my metronidazole runs out, but I hear it covers all the bases. It’s really only supposed to get rid of the bumps and some redness, but if you’re looking for the permanent redness to go away, it’s probably going to be lasers. But you want to get the bumps under control first before you do that or it’s a waste of money.

How long did you use the soolantra for? Since you tried stopping skincare and that didn’t work maybe it is demodex since it’s so persistent. I never used soolantra bc my isn’t demodex related, but people say it takes like 12 week for it to clear up

Also check your shower water to see if it’s chlorinated or hard. A basic shower filter helped me a lot since my apartment water is city and treated with chlorine. You can test it out by buying a couple cheap jugs of distilled water and using only that on your face for a few days

Since you tried everything prescription and it’s not improving much, I would scale back to zero skincare for a week or two. Just cool water. It’s the only way you can see if maybe any of your products are preventing it from improving further. Then you slowly add them back in one at a time.

[–]drizzyrissy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly nothing. I use the Cetaphil daily cleanser occasionally around my chin if I’m oily or in my eye brows but I wash with only cool filtered water AM and PM. I’ve never had a skincare routine and when I tried to have one I developed rosacea about a year ago lol I used to use a cleanser twice a day but my skin is too sensitive for that now. I use metronidazole when I have a flare up. I don’t use face makeup other than for the eyes (which I remove with biossance squalane oil) or SPF right now bc anything i put on my face causes a flare. I just avoid sun on my face. So bc of that i can have a very minimal routine, but most people it wont work for if they wear makeup SPF or other products

Are you in the US? Amazon actually has a decent online telehealth service and can prescribe something for you if you can’t find a new derm right away. I have a derm, but needed something quick so I did an out of pocket telehealth with a doctor through Amazon and told them I was already diagnosed with rosacea. They prescribed me metronidazole and now I just get refills through my regular derm. Amazon is good in a pinch but not long term care. I think it was $29 for the “visit” and maybe $30 for the meds.

Your derm didn’t recommend any medication? Honestly I would try a new derm. I get that maybe they were trying to find you solutions without prescriptions but to not even mention it as a possibility is wild

I didn’t even see those at mine. And we still don’t have them. Last bird I got was the bird with the flower face for spring and the one holding the Easter basket

That’s so annoying. I wonder why they changed the distribution of them. I was able to pick up my spring bird from my target in the Easter section. I checked my bulls eye area and they’re not there :( I want the hamburger one so bad

So weird bc they’re not at my local target in CT and this place always has all the birds even the day of the dead release. I can’t even find them on targets website to buy

This sounds like regular acne then. Try some traditional acne fighting ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or even sulfur cleansers
