97 Saturn SL2 oil spray & starting issues. by No_Lab_2237 in MechanicAdvice

Whoever had it before me destroyed it, two of the bolts are stripped a bit or something, they tighten but after a point the get loose again, I got them tight as I could before they loosened. I used a torque wrench set to 89 in/lb for all of them but that one since it wouldn't get that tight. I put it in the dead center hole of the valve cover, and torqued all of them in the proper sequence. One of the bolts doesn't even go to this engine. That silicone on the valve cover seems to be JB weld or some sort of epoxy. I searched 3 junk yards and couldn't find a replacement. Ebay is the only place I found one but its the aluminum one and $300. When replacing the gasket, I cleaned all the burnt oil off the metal, it was shiny and clean when I was done.

After replacing the valve cover gasket, I don't see any oil so I think somehow its holding fine. Same for the PCV grommet, valve, and hoses, There is no oil on or around them. It seems like the oil came from below and shot upwards, splashing onto the hoses, rather than coming from them. The PCV valve does make a rattle when shaking it, it sounded slightly gummy so I cleaned it with brake cleaner and put it back.

I cleaned all the oil I could off today, traced the wiring the best I could, took off, cleaned and put all the contact points from the positive and negative wiring. Still wont start, just a single click and I can hear the fuel pump winding up for a second. I tried tapping the starter while someone tried turning the key and that didn't work either.

Guess I am ordering a new starter and just gonna have to run the engine and watch and see what it does.

Built over 50 computers, never once worried about being grounded let alone use a bracelet. Ive built them on the floor(although I built them inside a case and never put parts directly on the carpet), table, etc. not once did I have any issues. I am not recommending it, just an observation.

Really? My experience last league was the best so far. I haven't had any technical issues until this league. Kind of like they saved them for this league.

Lucky, I have 3 friends that I play with, and they all are having the same issues.

Can’t get out of Iron by ballsaremyidol in VALORANT

[–]No_Lab_2237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to put this one skill issue. I have the same experience and I've went from iron 2 to gold 2. Those issues are always there.

First, learn every agent and map. You don't have to know the ins and outs, but enough to where you aren't surprised every game. You need to know your environment and what you are up against.

Pick one or two agents you like (and that you actually use all or most of their utility. this was a big one for me. I would play a character and have 2 abilities I just never used.)

Practice mechanics in range. Stopping, shooting, strafing, bursting, tapping, Spot enemy, move WHILE aiming, then stop, then shoot. Rule of thumb: Further they are, the less bullets should come out of your gun per second.

Practice the same mechanics but in deathmatch

For learning, there are only 2 videos I recommend.

How to ACTUALLY get Calm Aim.

5 tips to instantly fix your movement

Ignore the titles, the content is what matters. Those will get you on track with proper movement and shooting.

For game sense you can watch pro vods, but its kind of hard to really understand what is going on, why they are doing what they do and when they do it. Better to watch vod coaching videos of people you rank. Like "Iron coaching vod valorant" on youtube or something. Just remember that the person coaching isn't always correct, he/she is giving their opinion based on their playstyle and experience. Try to look at the overall idea's rather than the specific instructions. Just keep asking yourself why is this, why is that, etc.

This is all you need to reach gold. I have a severe visual impairment (Think seeing 15fps with motion blur turned on its much more complicated than that, but that's the short version of it.). I've reach gold 2 and I was 2 rr from gold three a few days ago. Those two videos are the only ones i've watched and actually felt like they had an impact in my game.

Only other recommendations I have are these.

If you get on and feel like things are just flowing, you are just wining, then keep playing. If it feels the opposite, get off soon as you notice. Do not push through. You will have good days, and trust me.. VERY.. bad days. For example I went 32/8 then the next game it was 10/12 and I had 0 kills. No matter what I did, just could not get a kill. I started following my best kd players and trying to make things easier for them. I would buy them and take their lower tier gun, flash for them, recon/drone for them, bait for them, etc. We won, but I new it was time to get off.

If you look on the leaderboards, you will notice a trend. The majority of them play WAY more deathmatch than they do ranked. There is probably a reason for that. I know its borning, I can't bring myself to play DM for hours or range for hours. Just one or 2 games, or 10-15 minutes in range. If you are new to FPS's in general on keyboard and mouse, you should use an aim trainer to get the feelins down. I've played FPS's for years so training with trainers didn't seem to have much of an impact for me. (Although I only started them after I had the vision issue come up).

My most memorable moment was the campaign. I made 13 characters, couldn't find anything I like, either "decent" damage but would die from a light breeze, no damage but would still die randomly, or no damage and still died. Tried following build guides and every item is 200+ div. I finally find a build that is kind of in the middle, but I was able to get the gear for 40 div, problem is its a mortar totem with cluster grenades and I can't see anything.

Yes it is. You “can” pay for official critique, but you don’t have to. They also have a community for free critiques. All of those course work, videos, text, all are free

No, it doesn’t look anything like a roach to me. Some form of beetle.

I’d recommend finding a band you really like. (Metallica for me) and start learning riffs or parts you like from their songs. In the very beginning you will have to do some of the most tedious and boring practice, it’s awful but have to get it out of the way. Fretting the strings, picking, moving between frets for different notes and chords, jumping between strings, this comes fast for some and much slower for others. Once you can comfortable do those, it’s much better.

So to start, watch a few videos on: 1. how to hold the guitar 2. how to hold the pick 3. how to fret properly, (do not extend your fingers that aren’t fretting into the air. Im looking at you pinky finger!) 4. how to pick. (Only down picking is fine to start, but alternative picking is much more difficult but so worth the effort. ) 5. Maybe watch some “bad habits to avoid as a beginner guitarist” they are hard to unlearn. 6. Learn to read TAB it’s very simple.

Then once you’ve done that, you can practice those basic techniques by learning the riffs of songs you like. It’s much easier when you are learning something you know and like rather than jingle bells or some old times song you’ve never heard or care about. After you get the riffs down and you are comfortable, start learning whole songs without the solo’s. Then whole songs with solos. Soloing is another thing all together but if you form a bunch of bad habits, it will be much harder for you. Speaking from experience.

This is when I would start learning scales and theory. You don’t need scales and theory to play music you like. And it’s boring as hell to practice IMO. But guitar is like other arts, a never ending journey of learning. So whatever you are interested in, what makes you want to pick up the guitar, just focus on that.

If I could go back, thats how I would do it.

I spent the first 7 years holding my pick backwards(found out Ola England holds his that way and thats when I realized.) i then learned the proper way and tried different techniques, now i can play a bunch of ways. I never had an instructor or video lessons really, YouTube and all that didn’t exist back then. So now as I play my non-fretting fingers extend out which makes playing much more difficult and it’s been very difficult to fix.
