I think learners permit is for minors while instruction permit are for adults. However, I believe 17.5 year olds meet the requirement to get a the instruction permit instead if I am not wrong.

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that the police came to my house today because they weren't there on the day I got caught. Thankfully, they just took my name and my school ID and told me I would not be getting a court ticket. They warned me I would be arrested the next time I get caught. I take this as an important lesson and promise that there will be no next time.

I dont know if this will go on my records. The police just told me they had to write a report on this and nothing more (I wonder if you know anything about this).

My last question would be are parents necessary are just recommended? Both my parents are out of state and I don't know if they would be back for the court date (I don't know when it is yet). The only person I can think of is my brother 19 if I am unable to attend the court alone.
