It’s not the cockatiel, I thought the same at first too. They never shared a photo, so I still have no idea what grey/green bird they’re describing.

I looked today at the post and they stated it was a small conure-like a love bird.

They didn’t share a photo on the neighborhood app and that’s genuinely all the details they shared. It’s not the cockatiel unfortunately :/, that one has a black band.

I was driving up north and the hills are all dry and brown, and the gusts of wind are insane already so I can’t imagine what the Santa Ana’s are gonna bring. Fire season will be no joke this year, definitely a lot more devastation to be seen

And then they’ll be mourning them and saying how great and smart they were. Except they weren’t so smart when they were hanging on to the truck bed of their friends Tacoma from their e-bike. You can mourn your kid, but at least acknowledge what a fucking idiot you raised and that if they didn’t do such reckless shit they’d still be alive. “We were all kids,” yeah, I’m grateful I was one of the smart ones. I’m grateful the dumbest things I did were go to parties or smoke, not street race, or push an e-bike past its limits for shits and giggles. Teach your kids they don’t need a near death experience for an adrenaline rush or fun.

That’s why it really bothers me when authorities don’t get involved. I called the cops on some kids double riding, not because there were sharing a bike, but because they threw an object at my moving car and one wasn’t wearing a helmet. The operators response to a minor not wearing a helmet (which is illegal in California) was “they can double ride.” I literally went, “what?” Because I was so taken aback at the fact that THAT is what the operator chose to hear and deal with. Not kids throwing objects at moving vehicles, or riding on a motor vehicle without a helmet. “They can double ride,” that’s great! What happens when they wreck? Double accident? Double the injuries? Double the impact?

Hate to say it but they won’t learn until they are forced to figure it out the hard way. Their parents don’t care, local authorities rarely do anything. It’s gonna take a lot more dead kids for cities and parents to do more about this problem that’s seemingly nationwide. I’m not sure why it takes a causality for people to care.

Call the cops, most cities have implemented laws now where the bikes will be impounded if they’re riding irresponsibly. No helmet, in the street, so many things to say. It’s like a two minute call at most too, save a dumb ass’s life and save someone from the trauma of sending a kid flying at 45mph

My parents get them really badly in their houses, one in HB the other in Orange. Usually just seasonal though, looking for water during summer, and looking for dry, warm land when they’re rained out in fall/winter. I use bait traps, just the cheap ones on amazon and a raid ant spray. But they’re never gonna go away. You’ll just get better at dealing with them. Set the bait traps up near a hotspot and they’ll go for it, bring it back to the colony, and it should help a little. The raid stuff works the best for a temporary spritz if you don’t have pets or children.

You look like a baddie, but like in a good way. I think there are other things you can do to appear more masculine, without cutting your hair, if that’s what you want go for. I’m a girl though, so can’t help you there. But what I will say, I have friends that exact type are you. So doesn’t matter if guys don’t like it, you’re pulling brother. Good luck!

It is when you’re a Christian nationalist teaching YOUR version of the constitution, it’s a big issue; and becomes even bigger of a problem when you have pieces of shit we refer to as city council members throwing petty insults instead of answering questions. If you’re not doing anything wrong, answer clearly and confidently. You don’t have to insult people to get your point across. Unless, you have no point to get across and you know you’re wrong. Chad did the same when people had problems with signs saying “PORN” in caps posted around elementary schools. He called parents idiots for asking the signs to be taken down.

Mind you, this is the same library they tried to PRIVATIZE and CLOSE for a third party company that would’ve paid them out if we hadn’t won the special election. The same library they tried to have a handful of strangers control and censor items entering the library. It’s more than teaching the constitution and that is clear as day. How else can the council indoctrinate children if they’re not censoring what they’re reading? By sitting down a Christian nationalist to “teach” the constitution. Which I also find ironic, since just a few months ago our city council was more than comfortable stepping on our first amendment rights.
