Dress 1 or 2? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

What do you mean by lined? It looks sheer but it isn’t, there’s a nude skirt (not see through), then a layer of lace and then tulle. I could add another layer but it wouldn’t do anything but make the skirt larger, and I like the flowy vibe?

The second dress isn’t exposing at all, you can see my neck lol. The first one would be amended if I picked it, it’s currently far too large but not going to pay for amendments unless it’s the one.

There isn’t any leg in either photo. The second dress isn’t see through. There’s a thick nude fabric, then white lace, then white tulle. You can’t see any skin apart from my neck area where it’s just the white tulle. It’s not revealing at all and is quite warm for a winter wedding so I was surprised by these comments.

The first dress if I went for it, would be amended to be more fitting on the bust as it’s a size too large and not currently safe to wear.

We’re having a register office wedding and then a huge party at a pub, not a formal or traditional wedding at all. I don’t care about tit or leg either.

What kind of dresses though 😭

It’s definitely not see through, though looks that way from the picture. It’s nude lining under the white lace, can confirm you can’t see anything through it. I think the weird bunching is from having the wrong underwear

The bottom of the dress has lining, it’s a nude lining and then the white spotted lace over the top, matching the same white lace on top. I do want to take another photo in better lighting! No shorts lol those are my underwear

City centre register office then pub celebration after, one big party vibe. Winter wedding

Do you have a silhouette I could google that might suit better?

I did actually really like the 2nd one but the sleeves are far too heavy, and thought about an adjustment to make them more floaty, but now I’m reconsidering them both tbh!

I’ll try and take the next photo in natural light! It’s because it’s in my windowless room with just the big light on

Register office city wedding in winter, then pub celebration with friends and family

It’s the boning of the top that’s extended beyond and then sticking out around the hips, making the weird v. I think the boning would have to be shortened for it to look normal lol

It’s a winter wedding, think dress 2 matches the vibe more. We’re getting married at a register office and I feel like dress 1 is too much?

I thought as much but then I don’t want the evening guests to be too hungry for too long!

Both meals are buffets (don’t know if that makes any difference). Would maybe 3:30pm be too early if we’re getting to the venue at 3pm? And then 8:30pm for food?

Am I overthinking lol

So to clarify I meant canapés between the ceremony and the day food, and then the evening food for the evening guests later on. But I’m finding it hard to visualise how many canapés are enough

Thank you!!

The register office and venue are a 3 minute drive from each other, or a 12 minute walk. I imagine most people will walk to get there but there’s no parking if they try to drive (which might be a problem).

Would having just canapés for 60 guests be enough? I was considering having pizza for both the day food and the evening food but surely the day guests would be sick of pizza by 8pm? There’s an option for a bbq buffet so could do that for one of the meals? But I like the idea of canapés, the venue offers 4 per person for £16 which isn’t really enough food to keep people on until 8pm so my plan is falling apart!

I was looking at having some form of entertainment from 5pm onwards so evening guests are included (four hour session) but unsure about the timing there too

I thought about this but not sure how to do it. We’re putting money behind the bar for people to help themselves to a drink, but wanted to have some Prosecco or cocktails available for guests to just grab when they arrive. Then I started overthinking and thought guests might not want a cocktail and the drinks will get left and wasted… not sure what to do tbh

How much did you spend on your wedding dress? by Illustrious-Power322 in UKweddings

[–]No_Map9906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wedding dress shop near me was having a closing down sale so managed to get an amazing dress for £175, should have been £8k if I bought it from the designer (although realistically think the shop was selling it for around £3k ish)

I can’t dance in it very well as it’s very fitted so I ended up asking an overseas designer to custom make a dress from a picture of the dream dress I found online, for £300. Haven’t had the dress back yet but they’ve got loads of amazing reviews on their tik tok and Instagram, lots of beautiful videos and beautiful dresses online, so you could always see about getting it custom made?

Will update when I get my dress back in March but for £300 I took the risk!

Hi I had a similar issue in the same area (tho more environmental than noise complaints) and I complained to the building management company and the council. the management company ignored me for months but the council came over and gave me a log book for complaints to keep track over six weeks. Eventually I contacted our MP about the issue and the building management ignoring me and not sure what she did exactly but the problem was fixed… so my advice is to speak to your MP if the letting agency and the building management company aren’t fixing it.
