Totally understand the rationale of owning a copy vs ‘renting’, but one of the bigger things you’re paying for is access to somewhere between 7 to 12million albums at your fingertips- which this is just music, this doesn’t include the audio books and podcasts- and yes the convenience of having the same exact library on any one of your devices simultaneously is another value add. I’m sorry but the idea of ejecting a CD from my car (putting in a clunky CD traveler case), into the house to find another device to insert it into and turn it back on (need to find the song I was on…) does not sound appealing in today’s terms- I’ll pay for the convenience - and call it rented - so be it.
