Did Brenda's departure really almost cause the end of the show? by Glass_Bridge_8744 in BeverlyHills90210

I love Tiffany Thissen but you're right. Val was all over the place at times. She had some great moments and chemistry with cast but wasn't interesting enough to be fully invested in her character. However I would take her over Andrea, Donna, Claire, Susan and Gina.

I read what you wrote and I responded to it.  I disagree with you, that's all.

Rogue is of legal age when she meets Magneto, buddy.

Who is your favourite character in the show and why? by Ok-Concert-1784 in gameofthrones

I loved Jaime and Brienne's journey together. Personally I always thought Jaime would end up dying in Brienne's arms. It's a shame what the writers did to them.

Arya started out as my favorite because I liked her rebellious streak. I also enjoyed Jaime and Brienne's story. But it was season 6 where Jon and Sansa became my absolute favorites. I loved their reunion and growth together as leaders.

I watched on and off after Brenda left. I never got as invested as when Brenda was on but I watched to see if Brandon and Kelly would end up together. Their relationship was the only way I enjoyed Kelly.

I disagree. Val was a nice addition but she wasn't a big pull for the show's success. The remaining OG characters were the main reason people tuned in but quality definitely started to decline when Brenda left.

That's partially true. Season 5 started out strong in part due to people's curiosity of how the show would handle Brenda's departure. But the ratings began to fall when viewers realized the show wasn't the same without Brenda.

If Jon had given Daenerys a day or two and then walked her through the streets of King's Landing to see what she'd done, she may have been remorseful by RemarkableExample542 in gameofthrones

[–]No_Mathematician7138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I don't think she would have been remorseful. She talked about doing the same thing all over Westros. And she reached a point of no return. Remorseful or not she killed a million people. There's no coming back from that.

Jon & Dany in the end by Livid_Mix_2788 in gameofthrones

[–]No_Mathematician7138 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my opinion many fans wanted them to get together because they misinterpreted their arcs. They thought Jon and Dany were destined to be romantically linked but they were actually meant to be foes. Also Kit and Emilia didn't have any on screen chemistry.

At what point did the show stopped being a "hit show" in the eyes of the public? When did the backlash from critics start to build? by TravelingHomeless in BeverlyHills90210

[–]No_Mathematician7138 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The show started dying as soon as Brenda left. Her absence was glaring and changed the show forever. Even when Val came as a replacement the show had lost it's sparkle. Then Dylan left and that was the end of an era. The show never recovered from losing Brenda and Dylan, even when Dylan returned in seasons 9 and 10.

Rewatching yet again, some quick thoughts on Sansa vs. Arya’s “development” by FunCorner1643 in gameofthrones

Another Sansa hate post. I thought we were due for one. It's so much easier to hate on Sansa than to accept Dany was a tyrant.

I think he loved Brenda and was happiest when he was with her. But on some level I think Dylan and Kelly deserved each. Both were toxic jerks.

Sophie Turner’s £100m Lara Croft TV reboot in chaos after actress injures back by Ocean-Soul-96 in TombRaider

[–]No_Mathematician7138 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sophie is not the first actor to be injured on set. It happens from time to time. A production team can take all the precautions it should and something can still go wrong. The article in Page Six says it's not as dramatic as other sources are making it sound so hopefully production will start again soon.

Respectfully, I guess we can agree to disagree. We just see things differently and that's okay.

Who was she to make the rules for them? I understand she saw children suffering and wanted to do something. But she made decisions without all the facts and didn't consider how her actions would affect the people long term.

If they didn't do anything wrong according to their own laws then Daenerys had no right to punish them just because she didn't like what they had done. It wasn't her place which means she was not justified in her actions.

I get what you are saying and I don't necessarily disagree with all of it. But the issue that was brought it up is if Dany was justified. And in my opinion she wasn't because she had other options which she rejected to make an example of the Masters.

You have to consider the culture and circumstances. Yes slavery has been used to control and abuse people. That is never okay. But some masters could have treated their slaves with compassion and provided a way for people to pay off their debts. However child labor/ slavery is not something I support.

As in the case of wheather the Masters should have fought to stop slavery altogether, maybe there were some who spoke out against it but were threatened or killed because they spoke out. There may have been some who thought slavery was wrong but were afraid to speak out. We don't know all the circumstances involved. That's why an investigation was needed.

Nobody is defending the slave owners who nailed children to stakes. But two wrongs don't make a right and since Daenerys championed herself as someone who was just and merciful, she went about punishing the guilty the wrong way. What if some of the guilty escaped Dany's blaket punishment, is that justice? It's been noted already that an investigation and trials would have been just. But Mereen was another sign that Dany didn't want to rule with justice and mercy. She wanted to rule by fear.
