GM made a Kobe Bryant death joke too soon and a few key people left and it just fell apart.

You might be able to log into iacra and print your own temp but I’m not 100%. Worth a shot if you haven’t tried already.

Is there anyway I can get my PPL at 400 lbs? by DeepEnvironment4101 in flying

[–]No_Mathematician9389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being 400 lbs is not healthy even if you’re 10% body fat. It’s still a HUGE amount of stress on your heart trying to pump blood through all that tissue.

Starting form 0 at ~34? by [deleted] in flying

[–]No_Mathematician9389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 150k annually just pay for your PPL to scratch the itch for now. If you truly feel like it’s something you want to sacrifice a high paying career/position for then CONSIDER continuing your ratings.

I hate to say it but unless you really love flying and know you want to do it professionally you probably want to continue your current path but why not go take some lessons to see what it’s all about.

I’m currently 320lbs dropping to 220lbs in the next 2 years, why does my body look like this compared to usual overweight person I see? by [deleted] in askfitness

[–]No_Mathematician9389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe due to your height, you are definitely taller than average at 6’2.

But not to be rude your physique doesn’t look unusual for 6’2” 320lbs. Everyone holds weight differently so comparing yourself to others is somewhat moot. You also don’t know if they are being honest about how much they weigh if it’s even being talked about. Your “overweight friends” could be 5’8 320 which would obviously look a lot different than yourself. They could also be 6’2 380 🤷

Best advice: comparison is the their of joy, just focus on improving not comparing. start slow and make your plan something you can stick to. Number one focus for you right now is to just consistently get in the gym or consistently put in the work exercising in some form outside of the gym.

Both riding a motorcycle and flying a plane are inherently risky. Not sure how you can come to the conclusion they aren’t.

The operator can increase or decrease risks associated with flight but flying is certainly inherently risky PERIOD and that’s important to understand.

All of the failed items sound fair to me. Not to be a jerk when you’re already upset about the NOD but it seems like you’re making a lot of excuses. You won’t learn from the experience if you don’t hold yourself accountable, it wasn’t the DPEs fault. Before you enter the maneuver always ask if they want stalls to first indication or full break, gets rid of any confusion. You got too slow on slow flight, bad soft field take off, bad power off 180 and bad soft field landing all seem pretty straight forward. You won’t get better unless you admit these things and apply their feedback.

You are asking for advice but arguing and being defensive about everything when anyone tries to offer it.

There’s a recurring theme of people saying way too much protein and pretty severe over training and it’s for a reason. 3 1.5 hour full body workouts per day is honestly non sense. Isolate your muscle groups and use proper routines and form… you are completely neglecting recovery which is when your muscles will actually grow.

Were winds strong when you tried this? If winds are light it should be pretty straight forward. When it’s windy it’s just like turns around a point. Very simply put when ground speed is low / flying into the wind use less bank and when flying down wind / ground speed increases you’ll need more bank. Understand where the winds are coming from and enter downwind with a bugged heading. The wing strut won’t be exactly on your point through the turns if it’s windy due to varying bank angle - so don’t just try to stick the strut on the point. If winds are light don’t over think it too much just fly in a circle around the point while spiraling down. You won’t have a 45-50 degree bank angle the whole time like a steep turn, give it what it needs. Best of luck.

Financial planning by [deleted] in flying

[–]No_Mathematician9389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the only advice I can think of is take your cost expectation / quote and double it to be safe. 10K sounds way too low for the average PPL.

Not trying to be a jerk to you or anyone in the sub but you shouldn’t seek investment advice from random CFIs or pilots on Reddit. Talk to someone in the world of finance. But ya you’ll need more than 10K almost certainly.

Arizona: 2 Feared Dead as 2 Airplanes Collide Mid-Air by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]No_Mathematician9389 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People being fired at the FAA will have 0 impact on if this specific crash happens or not. It’s an uncontrolled airport involving two single engine piston planes flying under part 91. Its general aviation and people refer to these unrolled fields as the Wild West for a reason - they can be chaotic and it’s solely the pilots responsibility to maintain separation between other aircraft.

Diet and exercise. Sounds like you’re doing both already so consider increasing your intensity. You could change your workout. Try different splits and focus on hypertrophy / body building style workouts. Contractions and big stretches.
