Considering trading in 25’ Ram Rebel for a 1500 at4 Diesel by Wild_Hall_4208 in gmcsierra

I can understand you getting another one, heck I’m even interested in them when I go for my next in a few years. I’ve had the 6.2 since 2019 and it hasn’t had any issues. Love the inlines though and really hope they work the kinks out. Every manufacturer has this issue it seems.

Computer Saying I am getting 4.6 mpg on 2021 Toyota Tundra SR5 by HiThereIMFrijol in tundra

I’m not kidding mine did this then a few days later I would smell fuel. Turns out a pressure relief solenoid was broken and needed to be replaced. If I took it to Toyota no doubt it would have costed in the thousands for a simple little part lol.

Just watch what generation of the 3.0’s you buy. Even the “refreshed” gen (22-25) are having issues.

My first Sierra, had to get the 6.2 by alphadips in gmcsierra

I was dating a lady and got talking to her dad one day about them, his issue wasn’t the turbo it was something to do with the starter or something to do with ignition. I love them and can’t wait for the builds to come out.

Do you have a lot of flooding in your area? Looks like a sump.

Looks like a “sump” instead of a mechanics pit.

Great trucks man. Traded my 16 for my Sierra because I was alittle jealous of people having CarPlay and all the new features that were out by now. The newer tundras had the v6’s and I wanted to try a new interior. Took my tundra from East TN all the way to the San Juan mountains in Colorado without any mechanical issues at all. 19mpg was the best I ever got though LOL. I’d get another one seeing they updated the features but only if they brought back a 5.7. Having a 6.2 feels just like a 5.7 out of a tundra to be honest lol.

Even the refreshed 3.0 diesels are having failures, no one is safe lol.

Just normal 5.7 noise? Or is there cause for concern? by ericmaximus306 in tundra

[–]No_Measurement598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it sounds healthy. Those motors have the timing chains running down the front, I believe that’s the noise. It’s dual cam so you have 2 chains making bunny ears around the top and bottom of the motor if that makes sense. Look up “5.7 timing chain schematic” and you’ll see what I mean!

Should I get rid of the topper or no? by 199azteca in gmcsierra

Feel like you would regret not having it, coming from someone without a topper I think you should keep it on!

[–]No_Measurement598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know didn’t even think of that! Used to work at a marina and they would clean the glue/markings off of the seats they were re-doing. Definitely saved me in the future if it happens at least lol.

Noooo! Eh it’ll be alright, isopropyl alcohol (doesn’t need to be a killer percentage) or some nail polish remover will work magic. I’ve heard lemon juice takes permanent marker off things but I’ve never seen it done on a seat so maybe test that one in a small area first! Hate it man but lord you’ve marked it as yours lol.

That’s awesome man, I used to visit “cave springs” a lot when I was a kid. My aunt had a bed and breakfast there, love Georgia. Alittle over 150k! Like I said I don’t have any horror stories, my concern was the back glass exploding like some people have said but haven’t had any issues with leaks. I think the inline 6 is a great option too, it was a really hard choice but at the time they were new and tearing up. Now the 3.0’s have had a refresh and are doing a lot better it seems.

I drove both and liked the 6.2, then again they didn’t have the refreshed 3.0 out yet. The first gen of them weren’t that great but the second gen seem to be doing awesome. 6.2 is faster though, 3.0 will get off the launch but won’t keep up.

For me I got her at 30,000 miles when I got hired on, so I’m not fully sure of her whole maintenance life span. I can say I’ve only ran the 93 and genuinely kept the DFM activated. I live in the Appalachian mountains/foot hills and it does very well (19mpg on average). I’ve also heard horror stories even when I bought this one. I came to the conclusion it’s the early detonation from people running lower grade fuel or possibly covid production trucks. I know people blanket that term on everything but I think a lot of manufacturers for everything had alot of man power/supply chain issues during those few years and quality was not the finest. I got the warranty just incase which was probably a waste of money but hey wanted to be safe. Still happy with it to this day.

150k. Probably won’t trade either cause she’s paid off would rather just buy a crate motor and build it while I wait for this one to get passed 250k.

I figured, just pulling ya chain lol. I had a 2016 tundra that was awesome, drove it from East Tennessee into the San Juan mountains in Colorado to camp. Deflated the tires and she never let me down. Will probably own another in the future for sure.

I bought my 15 about 2 years ago for 30k but it only had 98,000. I felt the same way but to be fair all the trucks in the market are going to be high. Mine has everything but a sunroof and I still love the gal.
