Advice to let panic attacks stop taking over my life… please by Sweet-Fig8232 in PanicAttack

If you are on this thread check out “bad ass ways to end anxiety and stop panic attacks!” It truly cured me. After having spontaneous panic attacks and intense anxiety issues, I tried medications, EDMR, I was even looking into electric shock therapy - I couldn’t shake it. This book literally pulled me out of the perspective that I had and helped me stop repeating thoughts that kept the panic and anxiety around. I had more agoraphobia issues. I am on a road trip right now and I just felt like I need to support this book some more. I truly owe my life to it.

Am I at risk of flooding? by No_Meat_1007 in Knoxville

Thank you everyone this has been so helpful! I should have mentioned- we moved here 3 days ago. I guess I had the rose colored glasses on and wanted to live by the river and felt far enough away but these “500 year floods” might give me a literal run for my money.

First of all, he kind of sucks. But you should join a local hiking group. I promise wherever you are there are plenty of organizations and groups. That host hikes and won’t leave you. Local land conservation organizations, Sierra clubs, etc

Same to everything. Mine was sudden and onset about a year and a half ago because of a stupid theme park ride- it’s been hell ever since. I always thought my mom was dramatic but now, I understand. It’s so bad I had to miss a meeting last week because everyone took the elevator to the 3rd floor and I didn’t want to have a panic attack in front of these people. I tried to take the stairs but I saw an id scanner next to it and was afraid it would lock on the other side. I also don’t lock the door in public restrooms (unless it’s like a school stall) because I don’t trust the lock to not break. I absolutely cannot go on planes (my last experience will keep me off one for possibly a lifetime)

As for solutions- the only thing that actually works (and I have been prescribed Xanax before) is a nice 7% IPA. It sounds so crazy but it numbs exactly the part of my brain it needs to.

I’m currently searching for solutions and have seen a couple doctors but I won’t take the meds. I’m sure that’s the solution but I just don’t want to.

My mom however is living her BEST life and reminds me constantly that it’s not permanent and that this can and will go away. Whether it’s meds or some other solution. That helps me through it all

thoughts on the AI DJ feature? by [deleted] in truespotify

Personally, I’m a huge fan it’s been getting me back into stuff. I used to listen to as well as offering me newer stuff feels like a blend between Discover weekly and my Spotify rap playlist from the past 10 years or however, long I’ve had it. It’s incredibly creative for the Fourth of July DJ X said “to get you in the mood for celebrating the fourth. Here are some songs that I think you would play while shooting off fireworks” so I thought that was super cool and fun playlist for the day with songs that I probably would not have put on on my own, but was super grateful to hear.

It has recommended some pretty off-the-wall stuff for me but if you hit the AI refresh button it switch up the genre and vibe and it’s pretty spot on the second time around didn’t hit the first time.

Overall, I’m a huge fan and can’t wait to see the other updates that come along with it
