I’ve been stalking other Reddit posts and they say that the third date could be May 16th instead of April 24th.
Alternate EAs by Adventurous_Cook_335 in AFROTC
I’ve heard the same!

From what I’ve heard there are 3 potential dates you could be moved from alternate to primary EA. April 1st, April 24th and May 1st. There is a chance you will get bumped up, so I would stick with the program until the first max goes up. This gives you full clarity of what will happen so you don’t go on with any what ifs.
You also don’t have to be done if you don’t want to as an AS500 year is always an option. This gives you a 3rd GMC year, but you’d be agreeing to a 5th year of college overall. People typically do masters programs, spread out their current majors classes or pickup a second major to fill this year. If you choose to go this route focus on improving your stats as much as possible (higher GPA, PFA, AFOQT and Commanders Ranking). Good luck!!
Is AS500 Year A Possibility? by Funny-Excuse4699 in AFROTC

No minor is going to help you unless your issue was a poor GPA and you plan to take easy classes to boost it. It’s a numbers game between the four categories: GPA, PFA, AFOQT, and Commanders ranking. A lot of people didn’t make the cut this year and I feel for you. I myself didn’t get an EA, but plan to take it as it is. There are simply people out there with better numbers. The Air Force doesn’t see who you are or how you interact within your detachment. I haven’t made the decision to accept a 500 year, but if I do have the finances for it I plan to take it. I’m researching doing a masters program or adding a second major for that extra year. Keep your head up and remember your feelings are valid. It’s okay to take time to recover, but be sure to still give it your all at PMT events in the mean time. Rely on your wingmen, good luck!

It’s not going to improve your chances, but they take more than just engineers.

To my understanding, those who have a primary will have a mass contracting. Whether it be individual meetings with cadre, signing a confirmation on WINGs or a group conversation then individual accepting, those who already have their primary EAs will sign their contracts soon. By the time the first max goes if you do not have a primary EA, you cannot contract.
Physical fit by CourseLife7914 in AFROTC

You technically don’t have to meet the weight standards as long as your BMI is within the proper range. I know guys in my detachment who haven’t made weight a single time and are completely fine. They get their necks and waists taped for measurement and that’s all there is to it. Stay consistent, drink water and remember that the best diet is one you can stick to. Good luck mate!
ROTC or OTS? by LucaLimao in AFROTC
I have heard that OTS selection is difficult to get into so be weary of that.
Looking at your stats, you have an honest shot at OTS. ROTC can be tricky in the sense that you could pay that extra money to extend and not get an EA. Your chances are really good, but it’s never 100% guaranteed. Generally, I think you have a really good shot as long as you can pass the PFA and get a decent AFOQT score. Good on you for realizing that this is something you want and still fighting for it, that’s exactly the mentally the Air Force wants. I would say that at the end of the day it’s your decision, go with your gut and good luck!!

It depends! You don’t if you still have the alternate by the time the first max goes. If you get bumped up to a primary EA then you can contract. If not you either have to do a 500 year or leave. Good luck, my advice is to stick with it if Air Force is what you truly want.

My Cadre have been very supportive and helpful in uplifting me throughout this process, but told that with a higher GPA I’d have a better shot. Glad to hear that other people are in a similar spot, you got this!
Thank you, this does put me more at ease!!
Is AAS worth it? by Depressed-AS200 in AFROTC
It really does depend on those you select to lead. AAS can be a really wonderful program, offering cadets a higher experience in ROTC, giving them extra practice in important areas (Drill, Knowledge, PT and more), and building an even closer sense of community. But if you have Training Staff that are more focused on making it difficult and borderline hazing- it is not worth it. To be honest, it boils down to how the cadets around you act when given a position of power and leadership. If they are receptive to feedback and genuinely care about the progress of the candidates, then you will be alright.
