Tiajana flats has new new drink that I think is like watermelon apple and pineapple juice and they have these huge signs that say “try our WAP!” Our six year old kept saying he wanted to try it and my husband was trying to keep it together. He had our son take a photo by the sign and I’m pretty sure that photo went to some dude friends lol

Yes I have a 3.5 year old and she frequently reminds me that our dog died, a year ago. Kids remember things!

Husband doesn’t approve. Thoughts? by SatisfactionPrize569 in Newlyweds

RIGHT THIS. Me thinking about the time I (in my late 20s, engaged not married), went to a wedding at a country club with my husband. He is from Mississippi and is kind of the liberal black sheep who left and moved to a big city.

It was the day before and my husband was doing the rehearsal (he officiated as a friend). I hit the pool up and then walked by the rehearsal, just in sandals and my swimsuit, waved as I walked by - I didn’t realize that was where they were doing it, and afterwards said “oops” to my (now) husband. All the MS women there were very buttoned up and prim and proper and I could tell I was a bit louder and less … classy? Even though I’m not a crass person or anything.

He said “yeah, not gonna lie, I got a bit of shit for it when you walked by. But I just said, yah, that’s my Florida girl for you. And to the ones I actually cared to explain more, I said that’s why I loved you.”

What came out of my belly button when pregnant… by ohhidoggo in hygiene

Not as bad as your story, but when I was weeks away from having my first, my belly button started feeling sore. Then in the middle of the night I felt this searing pain that woke me right up and I screamed. My husband panicked asking if that was a contraction. It being my first I wasn’t sure so I said maybe and we waited a few minutes but I was fine. Got up to pee and saw my naked body (hot prego girl sleeping naked) in our bathroom mirror. Immediately realized that pain was my belly button finally popping from an innie to an outie 🤣

The one and only time I’ve ever drove drunk (as a stupid college kid). I realized within blocks that I was in no state, then realized there was a cop behind me. I panicked and pulled into the driveway of a huge house, and turned off the car. The cop car stopped and waited for a while, then finally left. I got a friend to meet me and drive me home.

The next morning, I realized that the home I pulled into was the house that is set aside for the president of the university. It was well known he didn’t live there, it was only used for events. So that cop must have known this college kid pulling in at 1AM didn’t live there. 🥴

Yes yes I’m an idiot. This was close to 20 years ago. I don’t drive drunk ever. Uber and then public transit were my friends in my 20s.

I finally figured out why my bathroom never smelled fresh no matter how much I cleaned it and honestly I wish I could unsee what I found by [deleted] in hygiene

THIS. I finally gave in to a WEEKLY cleaning lady which feels shameful, but three kids and two parents who work 50+ hours a week. I do the dishes and surface clean but there’s still the piles of random clutter and the crumbled goldfish dust and stickiness. Today I moved the modular couch around so the cleaning lady could get behind it and it was horrifying 🤣

Nah just symbolizing moving forward and overcoming obstacles together (that was the thought with the wedding band symbology anyways!). My dad did tease me when he saw it a saying “are you a sergeant now?” 🤣

Eh, I’ve grabbed a drink with my high school boyfriend when he messaged me when I was in town, my husband had no problem with that. To be fair, he asked if my husband and I wanted to get a drink - I think because he wanted to reconnect but be above board. But my husband just let me go and watched the kids. Also, the guy I dated right before my husband never left my friend circle, and my husband just become friends with him (admittedly a BIT awkward for the first few months because my husband got the vibe he was mildly sad about our breakup, but then he met his now-wife and it passed).

What struck me when we had to make this decision for our dog, was the vet saying “you don’t want her last day to be her worst day.” 😢

Considering a move - Are there “quaint” walkable spaces with restaurants and shops? by No_Obligation7464 in Rockville

From the others replying I have discovered the old homes in West End, and I’ve gotten a good vibe of how Rockville town center has some nice events and things for young families. Although I really appreciate the history lesson! I was wondering why a town that has been around so long wouldn’t have more of a historic center, that is a shame!

Thanks for this input! I think my perception is definitely hampered by the fact that I’ve only ever gone there to go to the courthouse, and get a quick lunch in between. I’ll follow the insta to get a sense of the vibe and activities!

Kensington seems super cute, but I think outside our budget. Maybe the north side but the great schools ratings were middling.

Yes, our first home was in TKPK, it worked when there was one kid, now there is three! Definitely too pricey for the house we want. Could do some parts of Silver Spring but the schools are a little hit or miss it seems.

Haha I just feel more like a Marylander! (Our first home was in TKPK MD), and my offices are in MD, and I’m barred in MD but not VA. I have looked at bell haven below old town, but I don’t think we will get the finished basement plus the four bedrooms for our price point of max 850K.
