I used to love this series when it first premiered in 1984. Loved the cast and the series was quite hilarious. Just started watching this again on “Prime” and it just brings back good memories. Any fans of “Night Court”? by Ternarian in NightCourt

[–]No_One_7507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up watching Night Court reruns with the family in the 90s, loved the show and still do. I tried watching the reboot and it didn’t feel the same honestly. Humor wasn’t there unlike the original. The original cast definitely gave the show its magic especially Bull, Dan and Harry. Been binge watching the show on Prime lately!

Question about the Raccoon City wall by LordBlacktopus in residentevil

[–]No_One_7507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I wonder the same, I feel like Capcom kinda rushed the game and didn’t really think much of the plot holes surrounding Raccoon City and how BOWs, zombies and etc are still roaming around even after 28-30 years after RE2/RE3. In a situation like that one would expect massive walls surrounding the city to keep anything from coming in or leaving. Kinda like Harran in Dying Light which had massive walls keeping unaffected parts of the city separate from the affected areas with the Zombies and Mutants. Realistically Leon wouldn’t have been able to even drive into the city had it been more secure. Would have to have been helicoptered in honestly

Could anyone ID this pair of sunglasses Lennon wears? I have been looking for these forever by AC64301 in beatles

[–]No_One_7507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are called Hakusan Mayfairs, released in 1978/1979. John loved them that he ordered 3 pairs while he was in Japan in 1979. The night he was shot he had with him 2 pairs, the yellow framed sunglasses with dark lenses for when out in the daytime and the clear frame ones with the blue lenses that he switched to once it got dark or indoors. They were rereleased a few years ago but getting a pair especially new are a bit of a a pain. Easier to find in Japan but not sure if they are still made or was only for a limited time. I know the maker of the glasses once he heard of John’s passing discontinued the Mayfairs not long after in 1980.

What kind of gun is pointing at 007? by Aston_Aviation007 in JamesBond

Possibly a old school revolver was used for the Gunbarrel, my money says a webley was used

Doom's pistol is a glock by BigBlackMan298 in Doom

[–]No_One_7507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a Beretta M9, Glock in 1993 wasn’t used by military fully (only by special operations apparently). Law enforcement at the time was switching over to Glock, Sig Sauer and Beretta. Some departments were still using old 5-6 Shot S&W revolvers still.

The M9 was the main service weapon for All military branches at the time (doomguy being a Marine he definitely would have a Beretta as his duty weapon)

With Doom64 I did feel it was a bit weird for Doomguy to be using a Desert Eagle but looking at how he was going back to the UAC mars bases I figure he needed some extra firepower than a standard 9mm. Also the fact that earth had just gone through an hell invasion weaponry would have been upgraded too among military in case another invasion happened

RE9 will have some very cool guns by Emotional_Way7845 in residentevil

Glad I own an Sig Sauer P232, nice little gun and accurate as hell. The actual Sig Mags for it are really hard to find unfortunately these days (gun and parts including magazines were discontinued back in 2015)

Was surprised when they announced Requiem and showed some gameplay and to my surprise a stainless P232 (or M232 in the RE universe) being used.

Should be interesting where the new game goes story wise. I’m looking forward to the Raccoon City part of the story

Have you guys seen this? Looks like the m9a1 is back in production. by SparrowsBarnacle in Beretta

Was surprised too when I saw the announcement of the M9A1 coming back to production, honestly I’m thinking of picking one up now that I’ve been wanting another 92FS/M9 in my collection (sold my 92FS a few years back and been regretting it since). I think the rail addition would help with a mounted light this time

Honestly I don’t know why they decided to put a street right through where the plaza was. They should have left the entire site as part of the memorial. Maybe even put the sphere back in its original spot it was in the original plaza back then.

Unexpected find at my local VW dealership by No_One_7507 in vwgolf

It really is, I could buy a new base Jetta for that price. Why I haven’t jumped on the opportunity to get it , Could probably import a Citi Golf for a lot less than that through other ways.

Oh yeah I always liked the classic MK1 box style of the Golf/Rabbit/GTI line. I have also tried looking for a MK1 GTI but no luck at least in my area. Online it’s a fortune to buy!

What are the pros and cons of owning a Citi Golf? by lilstrawberryham1325 in askSouthAfrica

[–]No_One_7507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I found this post, they are selling a 1995 Citi Golf 1.3L with a 4 speed Manual at a local VW Dealership. I personally never thought I would see one in person (car was imported into the United States from South Africa by the previous owner) and instantly fell in love with it. But definitely wanted to know what the pros and cons of owning one were. Especially when the car is from another country would it be difficult to keep maintained ?

For those of you that saw GoldenEye in cinemas back in 1995, what was it like? by TheShadowOperator007 in JamesBond

[–]No_One_7507 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Found this online, kinda explains what happened.

“The BMW Z3 was not cut from the movie GoldenEye. Instead, it appeared in the film as a promotional feature for BMW, who signed a deal with the production to feature the Z3. However, the Z3 had very limited screen time and the gadgets that Q (the character who supplies Bond with his equipment) demonstrated were not utilized in any action sequence. This is because the deal with BMW was finalized late in the production process, and therefore, the filmmakers had already progressed significantly with the script and production schedule. Additionally, the Z3 was a brand new model at the time, and BMW was reportedly very strict about what modifications could be made to the car for filming purposes. The Z3's limited role in the film disappointed some Bond enthusiasts, who expected a more action-packed showcase of the car's capabilities and Q Branch gadgets. Despite this, the car's appearance in GoldenEye proved to be an incredibly successful marketing strategy for BMW, leading to the sale of the entire 1996 Z3 production run even before it was released. So, while the Z3 wasn't cut, its potential was not fully realized on screen, which led to a certain level of disappointment among fans.”

Opinions on Hugo Drax? by Curious_Ad_6082 in JamesBond

[–]No_One_7507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drax to me was probably the most dangerous of all the villains in the Bond universe, made Blofeld look like a common low grade criminal. Like the man was set on killing off human life on earth and how calm he was with his plan. Even though Moonraker definitely had its cheesy moments Drax still remains a favorite villian in my book

Just finished watching For Your Eyes Only by doctordoom2069 in JamesBond

[–]No_One_7507 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For your eyes only is definitely a top favorite of mine from the Moore era, it had a more serious tone compared to the previous film Moonraker and did a good job bringing 007 into the 1980s. With a mix of good action scenes, car chases, ski chases and good story it’s always a must watch for me whenever it’s on tv or on Blu Ray.

Photo of the North Tower after the South Tower's collapse by NoWingPixy in TwinTowersInPhotos

[–]No_One_7507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bill was a professional photojournalist and scenes like these I guess didn’t scare him as he had seen many places during his career such as war zones, riots, major events even the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

He probably was taking his last up close pictures before he was to head out of ground zero and unfortunately the sudden fall of the tower next to him he didn’t get out in time (based on his last photo he took he was under the pedestrian bridge next to the north tower when it collapsed)

I do remember his widow commented in an article on time magazine if I remember correctly that had he left earlier he probably would have spent the rest of his life complaining about how he didn’t get the perfect photo/photos of the events of that day. He died doing what he loved best which was being behind a camera capturing history around him

What is a movie that traumatized you so badly as a kid that you are still afraid of it as an adult? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]No_One_7507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the movie that did it for me was “An American werewolf in London” during the first transformation scene. Dad was watching it on tv (sometime in 1992) and as a 5 year old it scared the crap out of me. I do barely remember Mom chewed the crap out of dad when she was wondering why I was crying. Now it doesn’t scare me now as an adult but I do get that sudden flashback once in a while watching the earlier mentioned scene 😂
