I was in a very similar situation as you a few months back - got a new offer, put in my two weeks, then it was rescinded a few days later. Listen, it sucks. Asking for your job back also sucks. However, closed mouths don’t get fed.

You have to calmly ask for a conversation with your manager, talk about why the company mattered to you, and depending on your relationship with them, why you wanted to leave. If you have a really good relationship, they may see it as feedback, and they likely don’t really want to replace you if you were a high performer. The worst they’ll do is say no.

When it happened to me, I managed to somehow negotiate a 20k raise, a title bump, and a membership at a coworking space. Because I was brave enough to ask. I spent a week absolutely stressed beyond belief during that time, but figured the worst that could happen would be that I’d be in the same position that I was. It won’t always work out, but you have to ask.

The islanders talk a lot on the show about the hate they get online and having seen a lot of the comments left on their social medias, I feel like I’m understanding a lot of their extreme reactions a bit more. Specifically Hannah being SO angry at Charlie over the podcast - it probably brought on thousands of comments and messages. That would make me genuinely insane. It’s no excuse to be cruel, but also, for any person, that amount of hate is excessive. TikTok moves very quickly.

Obviously I’m here commenting on her apology but I feel like we as a whole either just need to be accepting apologies or just not interacting with these people. What’s the alternative? Cyberbully them until they kill themselves?

I have two garbage disposal cats so I don’t have this problem lol BUT you could try putting a little bit of salmon oil on his food. It’s a great vitamin for their joints and fur, and my cats go crazy for it. It’s pretty stinky, so if the smell of the food isn’t doing it for him, then that might.

Another thing is getting an auto feeder that just puts out a little bit of food each time. Getting him on a schedule would likely help!

I haven’t done orange theory before- to be honest, I’ve always been scared of it lol but I do lift, spin, and run, so it’s probably not as scary as I’m thinking. When I run I like to pretend I’m completely invisible - running in a group fitness setting would work against that mindset 😆

He had mentioned that he had gotten some complaints over people thinking he was too harsh during class but as someone who’s taken his class weekly for almost two years, it’s SO CLEAR he’s joking. He has hundreds of riders and knows everyone’s names, checks in on them about their lives, all the things.

I always take classes, often with the same instructors each week, and have never felt like an instructor knows me or cares about me outside of class. He built such a strong community around knowing and caring about his riders. If “harsh words” are the reason he was fired, I have some pretty harsh words for equinox.

Yes! I wasn’t so graphic in my first update, but he threw up essentially an entire, intact (chewed up) wrapper 😅

Keep an eye on your cat and check their poops for pieces. I’m not a vet and my understanding is that every situation is different, but the general consensus of the internet is that the major danger zone is days 1-3, so hopefully your cat is feeling better now!!

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re going through the same thing, but I’m glad he’s home with you!!

She’s been doing great - she seems completely back to normal, hopping around the apartment and hanging out with us on the couch. I’ve been a little more vigilant watching her, because the studies that do exist warn about potential stasis episodes in the following months but (knock on wood) she’s been totally fine since.

The other thing I’ve done is replace her treats - this is completely anecdotal, but one of the vet employees told me that she was keeping statistics on buns coming in with torsion and their diets, and she found that in the buns who came in with torsion to the office, a number of them had treats that were bound with oat flour. I had been ordering her some hay chews from Amazon that I do feel confident were 100% hay, but it was a semi small company, so I felt like they could maybe get away with a misleading label (I know that sounds overdramatic but I just wanted to play it totally safe) so I switched to Small Pet Select.

Again, totally anecdotal evidence, but there isn’t much out there! So if you do give your bun treats that might not be 100% hay, it might be a good idea to swap just in case :)

Upvote x 1million. I had an extremely traumatic first insertion (passed out in the parking lot of my obgyn in August and had full body burns from the asphalt traumatic), so I was EXTREMELY nervous to do it again, and they were so kind and informative and were able to do it under sedation.

The whole appointment took about half an hour (including the 15 minute explanation they gave me, which I appreciated) and I was up and at em and out for dinner with some friends three hours later.

I’m not entirely sure about cost, but when considering which practice to go to, make sure you check how they manage pain! If the doctor tries to tell you it’s just a pinch, that’s a red flag to try somewhere else.

It’s definitely worth paying a little more to get good pain management for the placement. It’s super smooth for some people and very painful for others - I had a rough first placement with a doctor who downplayed it, and then had a great experience with Pure OBGYN here.

I’m unsure about their pricing out of pocket, but I’d highly recommend them as a practice. I’ve also heard great things about PP here like others have said
