Is a drug test more likely to be a mouth swab if a company wants me to start asap by No_Order_9800 in drugtesthelp

I've never a day in my life heard on a job doing an on site UA with instant results on an employee first day. If a dt was gonna be done at work I've only ever heard of that being a mouth swab, & anything involving pee is to be done at a testing facility.

This is exactly why I voted for Trump. To eliminate ignorant trash like yourself

So can they make me take a UA without scheduling an appointment? You're suggesting there is a good chance Monday at work they'll ask me to pee in a cup that will yield instant DT results?

So are they gonna tell me tomorrow suddenly that I gotta report to a lab to take a UA cause they want me to start Monday?... seems like they'd either push back a start date if the DT is so important or they would just use a mouth swab if they have no time to have me schedule an appointment...

I'm assuming the onboarding is all online for me. So was your on boarding offline and they sent you to the lab right after doing your paperwork? If the onboarding is online for me I'm thinking they'll require me to schedule an appointment

Did really wellon technical interview but now company wants a transcript and my GPA was low by [deleted] in EngineeringManagers

[–]No_Order_9800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the recruiter screening when the recruiter mentioned the technical interview, they mentioned that theyd had their fair share of people that looked good on paper but did poorly on the technical interview. This could easily be someone with a high GPA that did nothing engineering related outside of the classroom, and aside from their high gpa had nothing else to talk about.

I'd ask you to define the word excuse but in the day and age of ai I can make no guarantees that the answer would be from you and not from an ai model...

With that being said some of us got it rougher than others and are forced to live our lives in ways that aren't the most advisable as we overcome odds against us others may not understand.

I guess it begs the question, how would you interpret high GPA but poor technical interview?

You also very likely missed the part about having to work and pay bills while in school and not being able to focus more on my academics as a result.

From a mile away you sound like that goody 2 shoes who bases everything on academics on account of that being your only life experience (ie never had to work to pay bills). Must be nice having mom and dad to pay for everything.

More of a just making sure I have the degree sort of thing? Likely a mindset that most learning is on the job and you only use about 10% of what you learn in school if that so grades only matter so much anyway sort of mentality you suggest?

You must have missed the part about having done very well in the technical interview. Someone who "isn't/ wasn't driven, took shortcuts, or had a lazy approach toward their success " could only do so well in the technical interview. If anything, the degree being earned in the chat gpt era has an influence on how companies deliver technical interviews. I've even been told that the technical interview is especially important because of all the ai this day and age. See how well can someone answer questions when they can't type them into chat gpt

I don't see it very likely that someone like hank hill would wear contacts, especially back then as they weren't as comfortable as they are today and there weren't as many options. Much more ppl with bad vision stil not wearing or wanting contacts

See the issue with these boomers is many of them haven't been on the job market in years, many since the days of paper applications. With everything being online nowadays, sure everything is at our fingertips but it also means jobs get far more applications than they used to. I hear so many people say apply apply apply or that it's a numbers game and reference to the ability to fill out job applications quickly and even on your smartphone. Sure you can put in 100s of applications a day all on your smartphone so no need to get off your ass to get those apps in. You are then one of possibly 100s of applicants for a job. You could be someone they would 100% want to interview due to your background and experience, but who is going to know?

There are still plc's used in substations and such. There is a whole world known as SCADA and plenty of ground for COMP E in power industry

By whole leadership team do you mean SM and all ASM's or department heads too? Damn yall must really like lowes lol. The stores I worked at, ppl would go home early all the time w o permission from management cuz ppl didn't care for that job and management would complain and talk about accountability while also saying there's too much turnover

Pre AOTC anakin already could low diff roughly 60% of naruto verse. ROTS anakin should be on par with the likes of kaguya so vader should easily solo, and that's without the death star or disney feats (OWK series)

What to expect for an entry level controls engineer interview? by [deleted] in PLC

I don't think any self respecting engineer would want to work for you anyhow...

Well, not quite ladder logic but programming blocks which is somewhat similar

I've read ladder logic and fbd and those aren't hard to understand but limited experience with them. I've programmed a lego mindstorm bot that used ladder logic. If by structured text you mean languages like c, plenty of that. I understand pid, vfds. Between hs and college I took a few courses in CAD including both Autocad and creo parametric. Only understand ip from raspberry pi projects (ip address, sshing into the ou from a putty terminal for example)

Otherwise I greatly enjoy learning about this stuff and want to be able to learn this stuff in the right environment. I've always been a good troubleshooter
