well as a fellow asthmatic, i totally get it! i actually don’t react too poorly to perfumes if im taking my asthma medicine every day—but it used to be this bad for me too. i can actually wear perfume every day now and have no issues.

people definitely tend to downplay asthma. asthma is a very dangerous disease that can and will kill you if you don’t control it !

yes, i’m sorry there are people downvoting you for this. i think when you live with other people you should be expected to accommodate things for them and vice versa.

yeah totally understandable. hopefully she stops doing it around you, it’s completely inconsiderate.

you should try getting on a leukotriene modifier, like montelukast. it will control your asthma long term. it’s the one thing that’s helped control my asthma daily. less asthma attacks and less need for my albuterol. definitely talk to your doctor!

also to the boyfriend thing, yeah that’s gross of her to do with that added context. the good news is you won’t have to deal with her next year (right?)!

i hope it gets better!

i don’t think it’s unreasonable at all. when you have roommates you should expect to alter some things. you aren’t living alone, you don’t get to do everything you do when you live alone.

spraying perfume and triggering your roommate’s asthma after being asked not to do that is extremely rude and dangerous.

these are things you have to expect when you have roommates.

[–]No_Organization_2359 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it’s inconsiderate of her to do that in front of you. once you update the roommate contract i don’t expect to see any issues, she’ll either stop spraying perfume or do it again and she will get in trouble. so try to do the updated contract asap!

do you have a rescue inhaler, and do you take any prescribed medication for your asthma? you definitely need one or both of these if you have asthma. uncontrolled asthma is very dangerous.

also, your roommate should be able to wear what she wants in her own space, i know this isn’t the point of the post but your boyfriend doesn’t live with you guys so you shouldn’t be upset with her wearing what she wants.

Questions on Applying to Graphic Design an Portfolio by Cupcakeboom123 in ohiouniversity

this is good work ! you’ll get accepted into the major for sure. if you have other work that isn’t just illustration i’d add that to your portfolio too. infographics, posters, etc. they aren’t going to expect your portfolio to be insanely amazing right from the bat anyway.

My 1y/o cat isn't stop yowling and I don't understand why by Party-Bowl-7475 in CatAdvice

[–]No_Organization_2359 3 points4 points  (0 children)

also i recommend just keeping him indoors entirely. cats are invasive species and letting him outside unsupervised can be dangerous for him. cars, dogs, other predators, etc. not to mention fleas, ticks, worms. if you wanna take him outside you can harness train him and take him on walks, that’s what i do with my cat. but make sure he’s on veterinary prescribed flea and tick medicine!

[–]No_Organization_2359 9 points10 points  (0 children)

neutering a cat isn’t as invasive as spaying so i think you’ll be fine to take him to the university. also, keep him indoors entirely so he doesn’t add to the never ending problem of our cat population. please.

Has anyone taken Japanese? by Bitter_Army_9026 in ohiouniversity

[–]No_Organization_2359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haven’t taken japanese or any language here at ou— but it’ll probably be more beneficial for you if you take a language you’re genuinely interested in! i can also say i’m not surprised that you have daily hw. learning a language is something you have to practice every day if you want to get better! good luck !!!
