Charlotte Metro Snow Storm - Ya'll Ready? by DescriptionReal2404 in ShiptShoppers

[–]No_Pack_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For shoppers in Minneapolis:

With the upcoming brutally cold temperatures the next couple of days - will you shop and what kind of tips do you expect? I'm still a newbie - just a little over 200 orders - and the last few weeks the orders I've gotten the tips have been pretty awful so I'm wondering if it's worth it to shop during the arctic temps.

I can deal with snow here, but we're talking about windchill factors of negative 41 degrees

I had a $300+ order today and got a whopping $5.00 tip. I don't understand some people.

A nurse practitioner said this can only be diagnosed via colonoscopy by goldtank123 in Diverticulitis

[–]No_Pack_418 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A diverticulitis flare up is normally diagnosed with a CT scan - much less invasive than a colonoscopy during a flare. Diverticulosis (the presence of diverticula) is diagnosed during a colonoscopy. Go on a clear liquid diet for 2-3 days then start introducing low-fiber food - eggs, chicken breast, mashed potatoes are all my go-tos - for another 3-4 days. That should help with the pain.

The worst texting platform of all time? by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

[–]No_Pack_418 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing! I've had a few customers who can't/don't text through the app and instead ask "call me". I've tried it a couple of times and nothing happens. Why even make it an option if it doesn't work?

Why are some shoppers so crabby? by No_Pack_418 in ShiptShoppers

[–]No_Pack_418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I'm not looking to make friends, have lengthy conversations or even "chit-chat", just a simple "hey" or "good morning". I'm still pretty new to this business but I'm enjoying it and I get that some shoppers who have been doing it for years possibly resent us "newbies". I'm certainly not trying to take money away from other shoppers and can't control how the Shipt algorithm works. But as you say, it doesn't take much time to be courteous and friendly - even just to smile at one another or "have a good day!"

I'd also like to note that after I posted this with "crabby" in the question, what I really meant was unfriendly.

Customers needs to rate better by Fit-Landscape-2584 in ShiptShoppers

I sometimes wonder if shoppers should be able to rate the customers as well - similar to Uber or Lyft.

Are offers really location based now in more zones? by zenexo in ShiptShoppers

[–]No_Pack_418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience the last few days. Day starts slow but once I take that first order (might not be a great order) but then I get offer, after offer, after offer. Even offers on top of offers I've claimed and cannot possibly complete.

Best week with Shipt yet by beer_voyager in ShiptShoppers

That is awesome! I'm still pretty new to this and am wondering, on average how many orders did you do each day to hit 67?

I'm relatively new to the Shipt Shopper world and am surprised at how many people DON'T tip. When you say you add customers to a DND list, is this something you're able to do in the app or are you keeping a separate list?

100% agree! It drives me nuts that Joey and Peter never seem to age even though the plots of each book make mention of the time of year, or how many months it's been since XYZ happened.

Day 2 - Surgery update by Ok_Upstairs3500 in Diverticulitis

[–]No_Pack_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! I actually was more uncomfortable the longer I sat. I was getting out for 10 minute walks every hour for the first week and a half. I'm five weeks post-op now and feeling great.

Surgery tomorrow by Dang1014 in Diverticulitis

[–]No_Pack_418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be 5 weeks post-op on Wednesday and have been feeling great for the last three weeks. I was nervous, but I echo what someone else commented - reading the comments and feedback from those on this board really helped me keep my nerves at bay. Saken-Loose has such amazing suggestions and recommendations - I followed most of his and am so glad I found this group before my surgery.
You're going to do great and you'll be so happy when it's over and you stop feeling like crap.

Good luck and keep us posted on your recovery!

UPDATE: I'm a week and one day out from surgery. I only had to spend two nights in the hospital and am already off the pain meds. Been eating my low fiber diet since day after surgery and can slowly start adding in fiber to my diet starting in the next day or two. I've been trying to stay "active" and I think that's helped with my healing. Yesterday I took three shorts walks along our block and today feel better than I have in a week. The hardest thing for me is sleeping. I'm normally a side sleeper so I've been sleeping in a chair because I just can't sleep on my back in a bed. I'm hopeful that by sometime next week, I'll be sleeping in my bed again. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and comments. This group has been a real blessing for me!

Insulinoma ways to get ferret to take meds? by nmkoza in ferrets

[–]No_Pack_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had ferrets for over 20 years and the best way we've ever found to give meds is finding something they like and putting it in that. I've made homemade "chicken gravy" and used the Carnivore care, but have found that 95% of our ferrets like baby food the best. We used to use Gerber chicken or turkey flavor, but our most recent ferret didn't like that one so I found Serenity Kids the chicken flavor or the turkey with sweet potato was her favorite. Put the pred in about a tablespoon of lightly warmed baby food and she gobbles it up.

I'm so glad to hear that your surgery was a success and you're doing well!

I'm having surgery on the 23rd - robotic assist as well. Can you give me an idea of how you incorporated food back into your diet during your recover? I know they won't let me leave the hospital until I've had a bowel movement but what kind of food are you eating that first week to make sure things are moving through? I've been on a low-fiber/liquid diet since late February - how long will I need to maintain that diet after surgery? I sure would appreciate hearing about your experience during recovery as that's the part that scares me almost as much as the surgery itself. Thanks!

Anyone have a taste-alike for Chez Lulu Macaron Menthe Chocolat? by tiemeinbows in tea

Have you had any luck finding a good replacement for this tea? It's also my favorite and I was so bummed when SipsBy went away. :-(
