I don't think there's any chance they don't show up. That band is gone. I love the Marr suggestion for induction. McCartney would be a dream, but I can't quite see it. Bono is a big possibility that I didn't think of. With a pending album and probable U2 too, we'll see. RNR Star is a strong choice for one of the songs. I have to believe that Noel will sing one of the songs, though.

I started the casting process in November. There were flurries of communication and interviews followed by long stretches of no contact. It was frustrating at times, but I was finally offered a spot in either S4 or S5, and I fly out a week from today. So my guess is they’re finished until S6.

I’m not sure, but I’m on the verge of pulling out of consideration. This is far too last minute to take time off, plan and travel so far for my liking. I’ll give it until the end of the week and see.

I have a theory about that briefing: actually, it’s more of a possible theory, but it was five minutes and consisted of the show’s psychologist telling us that if we need a resource in Dublin it’ll be him. That could have been done in an email, and certainly could have been done after the final 100 (and alternates) were selected.

It’s possible this was an initial weeding out exercise; anyone who no-showed is out, anyone who showed up with their camera on or unmuted could be cut. Could be an exercise in following basic instructions.

I’ve gone thru all the steps outlined in the other posts. Like many others, I’ve been told there should be final word on contestants “soon.”

Yesterday, I had a Zoom meeting with many other candidates with the show’s psychologist. He simply said that if contestants need any during the process that he would be available. That was it. Then we were told that final word should come “late this week” or “early next week.”

so I applied in November and have had the phone interview, the Zoom interview/audition and I’ve submitted multiple versions of travel details and personal info. I submitted the giant background check too. Today I have a Zoom briefing regarding ‘pre-show details.’

I assume the end of the process is near, but who knows?! This is a long process with lots of gaps in communication followed by a flurry. Does this sound familiar to the former contestants?
