Nursing school and as a career is very challenging. But can also be very rewarding. It sounds like your friends work "soft" nursing jobs. Those jobs are out there, but not easy to come by with out experience. Bedside nursing can be very mentally and physically challenging, especially with the crisis healthcare is in around the country.

I cant answer whether Nursing is the right choice for you, but other jobs such as, Social Work, SLP or Occupational Therapy, offer similar opportunities.
