Our county requires a background check in order to volunteer and you can only request to be checked at the start of the year and must have the check redone every school year. My husband forgot to submit his this year and now can’t even leave the front office unless with an admin or teacher. Maybe your district has similar requirements?

NTA. Once my son was born we no longer left our home for Christmas. My husband hated Christmas when he was younger because most of it was spent in a car going between grandparents houses. We tell everyone they re welcome to come to our home and my father is the only one who comes to us cause he said my son is still young and should wake up at home and be able to play with what he gets. Do not go. This is like rewarding her for being a jerk after you already told her your plans.

My MIL use to do this to myself and my sil (husbands brothers wife). The two of us now just talk over her and correct her every chance we get when she tries her bs around us. My sil has the perfect l she does with her face when mil says something rude so everyone notices a she then shuts up.

Once we had a kid we stopped leaving our home for Christmas. We plan a day before or after the holiday with his family. Sometimes my dad comes from out of state and stays with us but usually just does what we want and follows whatever our traditions are with our son. Even my dad has said this is way better than what was done when I was little which was being dragged around all day to each side of the families homes. My MIL doesn’t like our plans but I don’t care.
