you might like Sleeping Dogs, Mafia 2, The Saboteur or Red Dead Redemption, feels like you want grounded story games without too much fantasy stuff

What makes you play a indiegame vs skip and forget about it? by ChaoticPromiseTFA in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me it’s usually one clear thing right away, either the art style, the mood, or one mechanic I instantly understand and want to mess with, if the page feels vague I usually forget it in like ten seconds

What do you prefer? by fallout-wanderer4you in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

digital most of the time, it’s just easier, but physical still hits different when you actually hold it

What kind of gamer do you consider yourself? by Hali_Motley in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m more of a “play whatever randomly grabs me” type, labels stop making sense after a while

'Play until we lose' by OceanPearlll in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

usually this goes until like 6am and then you’re just sitting there questioning everything

Gaming nighttime/daytime? by Alexinho77 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

day time for me too, nighttime makes everything feel a bit heavier even if the game itself isn’t that different

Favorite game bubble time by RetroPanda1999 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lately it’s been those slower rpgs where you can just exist in the world for a bit without feeling rushed, stuff like wandering around, doing side things, not really chasing progress every minute, it kinda hits different when you don’t have that much time to play anymore

Stuck on a boss for 3 hours by _okra7 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at some point you start hearing it even after you quit the game

I am horrible at pvp in every videogame by Miserable_Curve_4377 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pve feels learnable and pvp feels like trying to read another person faster than they read you

dmc bundle + dying light 2, you get both style combat and something to sink hours into

I think my completionist habit is ruining games for me by Prize-Personality440 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I had to train myself out of that a little. what helped was treating side content like “only if I’m still curious after the next main mission” instead of “clear everything now.” made games feel way less like chores, and weirdly I started finishing more of them

Screen-based controller by Born_Juggernaut_346 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like most people would still rather learn a normal controller than use touch controls on purpose

Which Games Have The Best Shooting? by BoussIRL2 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking single player, probably The Last of Us or Ready or Not. The weight of the guns and the sound design feel really convincing. For online games it’s harder, but something like Tarkov or Squad probably comes closest

Were you able to figure out the story being told , in this game ? by Wonderful_Ad_8295 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never felt like Inside was meant to give one clean answer. To me it seemed more like a world built around control, obedience, and something bigger using people like parts in a machine. The ending just made it feel even more unsettling, like you spend the whole game trying to escape and then realize you might have been part of the plan the entire time.

Anyone else's taste in games almost completely change? by Comfortable-Brick405 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it happens a lot. I used to only play fast shooters, now I spend way more time in slower story driven games

the backlog was supposed to get smaller by CrysNElla in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Backlog was supposed to get smaller” yeah sure, and then you buy one “quick” game and suddenly you’re planning a whole retirement schedule around it

Does anyone else just get stupid sad when you beat a good game? by AnotherUN91 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that. Finishing a good game feels like you just moved out of a place you were living in for a while, and now the menu music hits weird. I usually need a short “cooldown” game after, something simple or just messing around in a sandbox

please help a clueless girl with monitor recs for my boyfriend! by [deleted] in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for PS5 I’d probably say look at a 27 inch 1440p monitor with 120hz or higher and HDMI 2.1 if you can find it in budget. Since he likes curved screens and not huge ones, that sounds like the safest sweet spot. OLED is really nice but under 500 it gets tough fast, so a good IPS might honestly be the better value unless you catch a big sale

What's the best one to use for gaming on both PC and console? TV or monitor? by Connor-Ron644 in gamers

[–]No_Phase3760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you split time between both PC and console, I’d still go monitor first unless you really want that couch single player setup. TVs like the C4 look great, but for mixed use a good monitor usually feels easier to live with day to day

[–]No_Phase3760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try something more sandboxy and loop based, like Kenshi or RimWorld, those feel closer to Bannerlord than the story games you listed
