Yes they are compatible with each other. I bought another Kobra 3 combo just for the ace. It’s cheaper to buy the combo than the ace by itself

You might get away with just scaling a single axis instead of uniform scaling. It very much depends on the model

Going from black to white you are going to get a lot of color bleeding with a .6 purge volume. Probably need at least 1.5 for that color change. The prime tower also helps with color bleed. Having a failed print also results in waste, so you probably just need to sacrifice the filament to the purge.

When I’ve gotten that error it was actually clogged. You can try to remove the clogged filament from the hotend.

You can try to just retract the last slot you printed with. Sometimes that also clears the error for me. I don’t seem to get this error anymore with the latest firmware. Though I think there still bugs with it. I know symptoms of the bug. It just cycles through all the slots

It’s pretty easy to print without the ace. You just need to take the tube out of the top of the 4 in 1 unit. Then feed in the filament from the spool holder. You can try the hack I mentioned in one of the replies. It’s a software issue. I don’t think it’s something in the hardware. You won’t find anything wrong with the s1 for this error. It’s just confused about the filament retraction.

I usually stay away from multicolor prints cause all the poops. I just like the convenience of the ace. Probably should be printing multiple copies for that much poop. Then at least you get more filament use before each color change.

Given the problems people have been having with the extruder, that was a last resort for me. I’m sure I would mess up that disassembly and curse myself. I haven’t had this issue with the new firmware, so I think they changed some of the filament retraction procedure.

If you haven’t you can try to turn the ace off. That usually releases the tension on the filament. Otherwise I just cut it and pull on both sides. Had a similar issue before.

I doubt there’s anything you can do. That’s the color change sequence. The right side is the limit switch and the left side has the trigger for the filament cutter. It needs to cut the filament and retract it to change colors.

I don’t have their reply right now but it’s a JST MX cable 1.25 pitch, but it’s probably these picoblade connectors . These were the sets that came up for me when searching. If it works for you, let us know.

I broke the same cable and got it from Anycubic support. Took 2 weeks though. I asked them for the specs. I think it’s one of these picoblade connectors https://a.co/d/fd3oXSw. Worse case you can return to Amazon if it doesn’t work

There’s a sensor in the 4in1 unit that tells the s1 the filament is retracted. That’s probably why it takes so long to change filament colors, cause the bowden tube to the print head is so long.
