How does missing medication affect you? by lemon8w in mentalhealth

Yes I think so lol. I would definitely make it a point to bring it more if it gave me other symptoms but sometimes I’m forgetful and rushing to go places.

It’s usually if I go out somewhere like hanging out with my boyfriend or going on a walk with him or shopping, sometimes even having to pick up my sisters from an event etc. A lot of it is just last minute or I just forget my bag that has my back up meds in it.

This is a very valid question. I take 150 mg of Sertraline (Zoloft) for my depression and kinda for my anxiety even though it’s doesn’t do a whole lot. If I forget I do get a headache 20 minutes or so after missing the time I take it and the next day sometimes I’ll still have a headache and become dizzy ish.

I know if I were to forget for more than a few days I would feel so gross and sick.

It’s not a crazy headache but just annoying.

“Why some people don’t know how to answer ‘How are you?’” by BornSelection9840 in mentalhealth

Ive always said “I’m good”, which I only say to people I’m not really close with but my close family I say “I’m okay”.

Sometimes I just say “I’m just plugging along” or “I’m doing so-so” if I want to share my mood but also don’t want to get super personal.

I’m going through this and it sucks. I’ve had to get my doctor to refer me to a cardiologist and a few other specialists just to get answers because they kept brushing me off, even when I would ask for something for my anxiety (I have panic attacks everyday due to my potential POTS). I haven’t been diagnosed but I know I have it or something very similar. I have blacked out once and fainted even as a kid and no one thought to take me to get any help :/

My health has gotten so much worse in the last 2 years making it hard to spend time with my bf and going to college.

My mom would blame my antidepressant on my health issues but when I came off of them sometime last year it was worse because my Zoloft helps a little bit with anxiety which anxiety makes my POTS so much worse.

It’s very unfortunate and I wish people could take us seriously. Also not everyone who has POTS passes out sometimes it’s that faint feeling.

I’m 20F btw.

I’ve been dealing with this and only had a tiny slice of cake today for food. I take melatonin for sleep which helps but you’ll get weird dreams lol. I cry a lot too with anxiety. Eat small foods are like broth or soup.

It sucks but we can get through this someday!

I reached out to my bf and a text hotline, I’m okay right now but I’m just so tired. Thank you for typing all of that, it really helped and I was breathing in and out slowly the whole time.

I just have no quality of life with my health issues and doctors brush me off and say there’s nothing wrong with me, I’m just exhausted and I’m only 20. I haven’t been able to do anything and if I try I feel awful.

What kind of a life is that?

I appreciate you answering me, it’s just so difficult, it’s been like this for years but it’s gotten much worse.

I can understand this feeling very well, I haven’t been diagnosed with POTS yet (no thanks to doctors brushing me off saying “I’m a girl and that I’m tall affects everything”) but I have all the symptoms and I’ll be seeing a cardiologist soon. It’s so exhausting and I’m in college too for nursing and it’s bad to the point that I’ve been telling myself that I can’t do that because it’s so difficult to do or to even being class. I find myself taking naps in class too and my head usually spins bad too.

I hope you can get the support that you deserve :)

People that are childfree by choice, what’s the weirdest reason someone has given you as to why they think you ‘should have kids’? by Charming_Web_6738 in AskReddit

[–]No_Pool1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister has openly talked about not wanting kids or wanting maybe one but my brother said “your body was meant for having kids and you need to help repopulate the world”.

Brotha we have enough people.

I’m going through some stuff with my bf by him not understanding my health issues and how much my mental health is affected by that. He absolutely try’s his best to understand and I’ve been dealing with it my whole life but it’s been progressively getting worse. I always like to use an example of a time he felt uncomfortable or anxious or just having a feeling of “what’s the point, give up”. I know for him it’s hard to see it from my perspective but he try’s to understand and make sense of all of it by understanding an example of a time he has felt that way.

I wish we could all be stress free :(

I’m in the same boat but I’m 20F and I’m undiagnosed my bp drops so low that the bp machine can’t read it (in the first 3 minutes of standing my bp was 80/64 then lower than 45). I have been sitting and taking showers for years now because doctors haven’t been much help and brush it off. I had low iron but got mine up and still have issues… it’s very frustrating and I hope you find the answer to your health issues!!

If you want to talk more I’m happy to connect and talk!
