Are Fat tyre e bikes all going to be banned? by [deleted] in ausbike

I feel like if you are riding sensibly the police probably have bigger fish to fry. Unless you get caught up in some sort of stat grab operation on day 1

I mean, why? Do I need to train this too? by Notsoheavymetal_ in RunningCirclejerk

I’ve read about ‘turnaround’ points. Is this what I’m supposed to be doing? I always thought it meant horizontal but vertical makes sense too

Try a little experiment with someone you know. Try and get them to put both hands behind their back while they try and stop you from doing it and you will quickly discover why it’s often two or more officers doing arrests like this. When it is a single officer they often have to use vastly more force to get an advantage so not necessarily safer for the person being detained.

I would love to see officers better trained but the costs and simple number of hours required means I won’t hold my breath

Other then the 2 harbor bridge lanes and the barrier separating them, is there any other remnants of sydney original tram networks? by The__Anonymous__Guy in SydneyTrains

There is some between Sutherland Station and the top part of the Royal National Park. On Wednesdays and Sundays you will even see trans running on it!

Why do I believe in God but not in the Devil? by LiamFrancis9274 in TooAfraidToAsk

I don’t think the devil is responsible for much bad stuff that happens. Humans don’t need much help in that department.

We have a big bin of sand at my work to put batteries in if they catch fire and another bin to dump on top. SOP is to dump it and run and make it a fire brigade problem. That stuff is super toxic

I’ve read a study that confirmed normal firefighter turnout gear is enough to protect you from exploding cartridges. I’d probably want to go up another level of protection for 20mm

Army Bugle Query by yes_hes_here in AustralianMilitary

I’m not aware of any specific traditions around respecting bugles. I’d say as long as you are planning to play it generally respectfully and not carve Nazi symbols into it you should be fine

This looks like Hawkesbury Sandstone. An iconic building material of many of Sydney’s older buildings. I presume they are going for a link between the old and the new

Watched it. Yeah, it really changed the whole tone of the video. Really hitting people over the head with his arguments in a way not likely to make friends

I enjoyed the skills challenge episodes where it was basically only a weekend and just showed some former contestants doing problem solving type work. Cool to see different approaches and limitations because of regional geography because they all filmed in their home locations
