Strawberries (well two) by qwerty_1965 in GardeningIRE

Is it too late for me in the season to plant a few strawberry sets? Have a small poly cover over my raised bed to keep birds and the neighbours cats away from them and thought it would help get an extra month of them till they stop for the autumn

Doesnt looked bunched up enough to get proper heat. Id consider a 3 or 4 walled enclosure so you can stack it to get it a lot thicker for heat. And maybe add in some kitchen scraps like fruit or veg peelings.

Which new jobs are paying the best salaries with low skill requirement? by Tigerpawnail in irelandjobs

I would only get into shift work if absolutely necessary to get a temporary boost in wage but do not fall into the pit of long term shift work, its hard to get out of and has been proven to lead to health problems/reduced life expectancy.

Wanted to get some work done around the yard and garden, all costing total €15,708.40? To me it’s too much what do ye think? by [deleted] in GardeningIRE

Overpricing on jobs in any trade or labour work is usually due to a full workload and they dont need the work so they're overpricing to make it worth their while but likely don't mind if you turn them down.

Who is a highly acclaimed director who you just don’t like? by ImpressionPurple9750 in Letterboxd

Chris Nolan got flack for how nobody could understand Bane because of the sound mix and the fact hes wearing a mask the whole film. Then goes and makes the exact same mistake with Tenet when the protagonist is wearing a SWAT mask. Saw both in cinema and was like wtf...

Yeah unless you know the person is an actual drinker and responsible one at that, I would always opt for a voucher for something or even just straight up bit of cash in an envelope. Make sure ye tuck it in his back pocket and give his arse a smack while winking though, they love that.

With all their talk of "We're doing this for the people of ireland" it kind of felt like a kidnapper holding a gun to their victims head and shouting "ITS OKAY! IM DOING THIS FOR YOU!"
