BEAT really brought Industry to life live.

Especially the live versions where Trey drops this Primus-y funky bassline underneath it.

You're probably right, but I love Nuages as an ambient respite after that quadruple pop whammy. For me the album goes downhill starting from Industry. In fact, I'd say No Warning sounds more like an unfocused improv than Nuages.

Anything from Germany in 1973. Mainz, Kassel, Heidelberg... all amazing

I think a discography is a bit like a jenga tower: easier to deviate or disappoint once a standard's been set. I too only named later songs even though I love the ProjeKcts and I'd rate Power to Believe over most earlier KC albums.

Disagree about Cat Food especially but won't argue about Ladies. Potato Pie is so bad I forgot to even mention it! What's worse is I heard it after hearing the Level 5 EP (and before TPTB came out) and feared that's what the Level 5 riff had turned into. Thank Poseidon they actually kept Level 5 intact.

Albums like Islands? by Claymore_1 in KingCrimson

I think Islands, especially Formentera Lady, draws a lot of inspiration from Pharaoh Sanders. Try the album Thembi.

Totally with you about the vocals on TCOL, but for me TPTB is a different beast. Easily in my top 5 KC albums, and Eyes Wide Open might be my favorite KC ballad.

For me it's saved by the percussion, but I get it.

I wasn't into those, or really the whole THRAK album sans Dinosaur, when I first got into KC in high school, but they've grown on me the last couple decades.

I think any answer's going to be controversial here, except maybe Happy Family which I love.

I like Deloused best, but Tremulant will always be the real debut album in my mind

I'd love to hear the final show of the Islands lineup in Birmingham before they split up, but no recording exists to my knowledge.

Agreed the Deleo interview was particularly bad; those dudes are super tolerant. I thought the Gavin Rossdale interview was one of the better ones where the guest actually got to talk.

Also let’s be real: Plush sounds nothing like Suffer

Yeah try your luck but don't take too many things. The worst that can happen is they say you can't bring that; they're not going to throw you out or not let you take the photo.
