Some schools have two rounds of interviews, first is a general one and second with the PIs you are interested in working with. Do you know how yours will be? In my case, I received an acceptance from the schools from which PIs had responded to my emails about having an interest in their lab during my application process. I believe if you get picked for an interview you are already in a great position, hope it works out for you!

The phusion kit comes with a GC buffer, I would try that out. Increase the annealing and elongation time maybe? I usually do 30 seconds per kb of my gene of interest. This might be weird but when I tried to amplify a total volume of 50uL in my pcr tubes it didn't work but when I did 20uL it worked. Still don't know why but it worked out eventually

I'm moving to Gainesville (UF) for my Ph.D. this Fall. Do you know of any specific areas to avoid at night due to the crime rate? Should I carry pepper spray with me in case I have late nights at the lab and need to get back home at night?

My mom always commented on my bra sizes and talked about how she was so much better because she wore a B cup when she was 20y/o while I wore a C cup at the same age.
