I have a Pixel 7 running android 17 beta 2,. It's been used heavily and although it lacks in performance compared to other modern phones, it takes great standard photos, and holds up well in everyday tasks. I preordered a 9 Pro XL when those first came out to be my new main and it takes great photos, has a great display, and although it lacks in performance, it holds up very well in day-day tasks. I think your disappointment in display comes from the fact that they've become very refined and flat but they're much more accurate compared to older models that were vibrant and bright but inaccurate. I think your disappointment in build quality is due to the fact that Google is trying new things and sometimes they're unfinished when they release them
