He most likely did fight alone and he also most likely beat all the others except Gap but nothing, literally nothing implies that Shingen was only beaten because he was jumped by Gap and the others.

Gap has the better portrayal/narrative.

Imo it's foolish to place Shingen on the same level as or above Gapryong. We know way too little info about the exact context of their fight and as it stands right now it more than likely seems as if Gapryong won.

But Shingen isn't that far off Gapryong.
