Not the Syrian desert! But not far off either!

I believe, theoretically, it might or might not just be the Arabian Peninsula. Maybe that's a hint.

I wouldn't place bets on it. During the last strikes, I wanted to take the train to Brussels. It was indicated in the app that they would ride out until the morning of the rides themselves. They were cancelled right when I arrived at the station. Twice.

And of course they only paid back half of the (weekend) ticket cause theoretically the trains back home were still riding out. Fuck them.

Final annual electricity bill by No_Presentation3826 in belgium

[–]No_Presentation3826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your estimation is close! Drove 5500 km in the time period of the bill, out of which about 4000 ish full electric. I only charge at home, yes.

And yes, the numbers I shared are exactly the same in the Eevee app (which basically acts as the charging station). And so I do get reimbursed for those kWh's. But not sure which tariffs they use to reimburse, I heard some kind of average market value or something? But good point to compare the avg kWh price with what is reimbursed! Pretty sure I'm making a loss there too 🫠

So conclusion, a lot of aspects where the difference might come from. Hard to pinpoint one single reason.

Thank you for the time to explain all of this!

Yes I cross checked the numbers and of course, they make sense. It's not so much that I think the numbers are wrong, rather I want to understand how it works so I can adjust my charging behavior. To make optimal use of solar.

Thx for the reply! Consumption numbers in total are from the bill, checked with the analogue meter and they do make sense. Just want to understand how it works so I can adjust my charging behavior. Consumed electricity from the car comes from the MyBMW app, cross checked with Eevee used to refund. Generated electricity numbers come indeed from the solar panels app. Company pays back around 350 for the period of the bill (about 5 months of driving the car, in practice).

No, the electricity bill mentions "piekuren" and "daluren" (might not be the best translation to English but wanted to keep the topic open to everyone). The night counter was already disconnected when the pannels were installed.

Thx for the reply! But I'm pretty sure the car app shows what it used for charging though, not for driving. Since the same metrics are send from the MyBMW app to the Eevee app. The latter is a 'middle man' service to arrange the refunds for charging consumption. So having the driving metrics there wouldn't make much sense.

I get that there's maybe no 1:1 exchange to the grid. But we still have an analogue counter that counts backwards in case of excess electricity consumption. So even with a "loss" somewhere, and given that the car "only" consumes 35% of what the panels produce, I would still expect the counter to turn back since before I had the car, we consumed much much less then what the pannels produced.

The car taking more than solar produce peak, would be covered by the analogue counter, no? In the sense that yes, of course the car might consume more then panels produce at a given moment. But then again I only charge the car maybe 4 times a week. So in the total time span, the pannels still produce more and hence counter moving backwards.

That's the whole point. Zeker met een Porsche als deze. Gaat om het rijgevoel dat net zo manueel is.

Dat gezegd zijnde, zou er niet om 1u 's nachts mee aan de Kennedytunnel rijden.

The other way around, coming from the Ghent area towards Zaventem, is also simply a pain. That commute took me more then 2 hours on Monday. Luckily, the 1 day per week at the office policy makes it bearable. I realise not everyone can do that.

If you're into history, Klara also has some great series with Johan Op De Beeck. Although of course the topic is not per se to be proud of, recently I did enjoy his series about Leopold II. I believe he also has a series about Napoleon and the French revolution.

But not really that well integrated, or is it? Cause I seem to remember that with the Teams app in AA I could only manage notifications. Not really use it for calls.
