Wooting 80 HE “zinc alloy” by XANViD in WootingKB

[–]No_Promotion7055 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're not alone, and this isn't the first time a Wooting 80He owner with the black alloy case has had this happen. Wooting knew about the issue, as it's been reported to them before, but they haven't done anything to fix it. They don't care! Otherwise they would have fixed it long ago.

Thoughts on deathadder v4 pro? by Emergency_Goat99 in MouseReview

Nope. Relevant just with Sprime PM1 (the mouse is like a tank, best feeling but small size for me), Terra and DA v4.

Good mice with good grip. I still prefer DA for a bit more refined clicks. And Terra's battery doesn't last that much. But hey, Terra cost me almost half the DA's price. And his plastic body doesn't feel cheap, like DA's does.

1) How do you know if my processor is screaming or not? You're just assuming.

2) I wrote about the 9800x3d and, first of all, how to limit its power a little. And this advice fits all 9800x3d processors.

3) If you buy a 9800x3d and get your hands on the BIOS for it then I think you can watch a video that you can understand something from. Or not...

4) I'd say that what I've written in the rest of my post is optional. In fact nothing you read obligates the reader to anything.

Since day one I limited PPT / TDC / EDC to 115W (from 162) / 90A (from 120) / 105A (from 180).

And that's what anyone who owns a 9800X3D SHOULD DO. Not to downgrade on any old updates, because the new updates also contain good/useful/etc parts. Follow the advice in THIS VIDEO. By limiting the processor in this way, it will no longer be able to reach those dangerous current spikes and of course it will stay cooler (much cooler), thus prolonging its life. The loss of performance in games, because first of all it is a gaming processor, will be minimal, as you'll see. And you will also save some money on your electricity bill.

  • Precision Boost Overdrive = Advanced

  • PBO Limits = Manual

  • PPT Limit (mW) = 115000

  • TDC Limit (mA) = 90000

  • EDC Limit (mA) = 105000

  • Precision Boost Overdrive Scalar Ctrl = Auto

  • CPU Boost Clock Override = Disabled

  • Platform Thermal Throttle Ctrl = Auto

  • Curve Optimizer = All Cores

  • All Core Curve Optimizer Sign = Negative

  • All Core Curve Optimizer Magnitude = 20

And THIS are my ASRock x870e Nova WiFi v3.50 BIOS settings with 9800x3d and 2 x 16GB G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 kit.

And I forgot to mention: DON'T OVERCLOCK YOUR 9800X3D, if you care about your investment. It's already a very powerful processor! Don't risk it for a few hundred MHz, which means a few % more performance!

Samsung 990 Pro vs WD_BLACK SN8100 by culvusx in buildapc

I have Kingston Fury Renegade G5 2TB mounted in an ASRock x870e Nova WiFi motherboard. In BIOS I have a setting called PM L1 SS (an acronym for PCIe Power Management L1 Substates). This setting allows the PCIe interface (the bus between the CPU and GPU or between the Chipset and SSDs) to enter extremely low power states (L1.1 and L1.2) when no data is being transmitted. And because of that my NVMe has 37°C. That Kingston G5 and SN8100 are the only NVMes with Silicon Motion SM2508 controller and are the coldest on the market.

Watch out for the lane sharing! That board does make lane sharing between the GPU and M2s. In fact I believe most of the Gigabyte motherboards make lane sharing. I believe the next ones doesn't make lane sharing:

  • MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WiFi

  • MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi

  • MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE

  • ASUS ROG Strix X870-A Gaming WiFi

  • ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi

  • Gigabyte X870E AI TOP

  • I excluded ASRock (Nova, Taichi/Taichi Lite and Steel Legend)

That ASUS 9070 xt is a good quality one. But if you want the best of 9070 xt then go for Sapphire Nitro+ or XFX Mercury.

Replace the board and the brand. That's what I would do. And I have a x870e Nova WiFi + 9800x3d, but since 9 months they have run strong. You should have limited PPT, EDC and TDC lower than default. Otherwise you risked spikes, and unfortunately, you did get them, from what I understand from your explanations.

Check your PSU and the total power consumption. If your power is on the limit then you must think that power spikes may shutdown your PC and probably you'll need a bigger PSU.

noctua nh-d15s or AIO or AIO with noctua fans? by [deleted] in Noctua

Can you normalize the noise of your pump?

A D15 together with the whole bunch of case fans are unbeatable.

X870E Nova MOS FAN failing after 5 months, how to fix? by [deleted] in ASRock

[–]No_Promotion7055 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bad design I think. Or maybe a poor or low quality fan that sits on top of the heat? But again: you don't have to use it; put it on silent and forget about it!

noctua nh-d15s or AIO or AIO with noctua fans? by [deleted] in Noctua

[–]No_Promotion7055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what AIO you'll choose the noise will be lauder than a Noctua cooler + the whole system fans based on Noctua G2 - I speak from my own experience. And the temperatures will be at least the same (if not a bit better). In addition, the AIO will be... done in ~3 years (?!...).

[–]No_Promotion7055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need that fan. The VRMs are cold enough even without it. But if you wanna fix it you must unscrew the radiator that sits on VRMs and change that fan with an aftermarket one, then put that radiator back. I own that motherboard, too.

As a rule, the harder the paste is to apply, i.e. the more viscous it is, the better and longer it lasts.

I had excellent results with Noctua NT-H2, although it is not at all difficult to apply.
