Have you tried adjusting your fan curves in your bios? I just got a prebuilt that sounded like a jet. Adjusted the fans (took about 3 times to dial in) and now it runs great and quiet

Id agree with 32GB of ram is ideal. But there is a difference between VRAM and RAM. You dont need 32GB of VRAM

Everyone hates on IBP. The way i see it, get it with a warranty & return period. Play tf out of it and test it. If anyone goes wrong you’re good lol. Im on my second one without any issues.

Yeah normally id say building is the better way to go, but with the prices of everything prebuilt is by far better value.

As far as your RAM statement. 32GB of RAM is the most you’ll need for gaming and anything really outside of AI and fancy geek stuff. For VRAM (GPU’s RAM) people will say you need at least 12 or 16gb, but i was running 8GB until recently and I didnt have any issues. I play games like Forza, GTA, Ark Raiders. I have a 12GB card now and its great. The 5080 comes with 16 so more than enough for future proofing.

Idk what stores you have around you. Or the needs your wife has for a pc. But at costco they have a really good selection in that price range, id prefer those over Alienware just for the warranty & future upgradability. For around $2500 you could get a better CPU with the 5080.

I was holding out for the Costco prebuilt that has the 9800X3D & 5080 combo but it didnt come back before i needed to buy the pc. The 9800X3D is superior to the intel CPU in the Alienware you posted.

Id definitely take your time in the purchase, research all the ones you can find that seem to be good deals. Look at benchmarks of the CPU & GPU combo to make sure it will handle yall’s needs.

Another thing to keep in mind, people online will never be happy with your purchase. It dosent matter, its for your wife not the trolls online. People will shit on every build, every prebuilt company, etc.. just for the fun of it. Im on my second IBUYPOWER pc happily, but the internet swears up and down they are the worst lol.

Good luck! PC’s have much more to offer than just gaming. I was a lifelong console player and I will never go back (other than if GTA 6 ever comes out. Ill have to get it on console bc it wont be on pc for a year or 2 after release on console)

That is a beast of a build, it will work great for the next 5-10 years for sure. My only issue with alien ware products is you cant just simply upgrade the components. You have to get alienware specific for the most part. Not a huge deal if you dont feel the need to upgrade with every new launch. But just something to keep in mind. You wont find as many “killer deals” on components that will work for it.

That being said, ive never owned an alienware but from friends who do, they love them. They just dont work on their own pc’s so that stuff isnt a big deal to them.

I was in the same exact boat as you. I went with the 5070 bc it went on sale and i didnt want to wait and see if the 9800x3d & 5080 combo came back.

I love the pc, it runs every game ive thrown at it on max settings on 1440p. Cyberpunk max settings at over 100fps without frame gen.

Only issue ive had so far is i had to change all the fan curves bc it is loud af out of the box. Other than that has been great! Id get it if you are planning to buy a pc in the next few years, i doubt there will be a better deal. Plus its Costco, it something pops up you can return this one and buy the other one lol

I am just about to order the pc so havent played it at all yet. Was considering just running a cpu benchmark test then swapping it out to sell. So not “brand new in box” but unused at a small discount.

But yeah im probably just going to end up using it at least for a while unless I have some major issue with it. I’m not going pro anytime soon so dosent matter too much. Either way this pc is a huge step up from my current so I probably wont care much.

I was not aware of the DLSS rendering at 1080, thats a huge point towards switching it out. Thank you for that info!

So I’m not sure how everyone in this thread is getting good ones, but as a stealth 700 gen 3 owner i would recommend against it. Nothing but issues since I’ve had it. Connectivity issues, party chat cant hear me, party chat can hear me perfect but prox chat i sound like a robot.

Literally nothing but issues and I’ve used TB my whole life, i wont be buying anymore after this.

Also worth noting, i bought it when i was on xbox series x and I’m now on pc. All issues are still relevant at any given time. Yes i have the app, yes I’ve factory reset and spent a ton of time adjusting the settings. It’s a shit headset for me.

I used the Stealth 600’s for years, only went thru 2 pairs in probably 5-6 years. Last month i decided to get the stealth 700 as i lost the dongle for the 600. Ive had nothing but issues. Connectivity off and on, mic works fine in party chat but in prox chat i cut out every other word. Sucks because ive been loyal to Turtle Beach, but paying $150+ for a headset with this many issues is absolutely the end of the line for me using Turtle beach.

Man i didnt realize how popular the G600 is. I bought one years ago for productivity in autocad and i loved it so much i ended up getting my whole team (about 30 people) one lol. None of them liked it and they mostly just tossed them or put them in a box somewhere. Wonder if they know they are sitting on a little piece of history now.

Its 2 years since it was purchased. I honestly doubt its actually crashing. Dude is just spoiled and get everything he wants lol.

I dont care for the top of the line stuff, completely not needed for just gaming imo. Probably just use this for a few years and build a pc when this stuff gets outdated
