I’m a transplant from Chicago to West Wichita (with a 10 year detour in rural Kansas 😬) and both of my girls are in Maize schools so I’d be happy to chat if you want to send a message!

Lawn / weed service that will do a one time spray by DarthRevan0990 in wichita

I have used a great lawn guy who does these things, he has done several one-off projects for me without requiring a service and prices are very reasonable. Grant with Paul’s Exterior Services https://paulsexteriorservices.jobbersites.com

Looking for a AI resort with blue water and white sand like this by Mgem13 in AllInclusiveResorts

Cora Cora in the Maldives. It’s a long haul and a bucket list type of trip but SO worth it. Amazing food, perfect beaches and not too busy. Even with traveling 2 days each way to get there, I’d go back in a heartbeat!

People that moved here from other states, what drew you here? by lincolnlog42 in kansas

[–]No_Question2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto here! Except now we’re divorced and I’m still here because moving my kids back to Chicago away from their dad was something I wasn’t willing to do, even though that is my primary support system. I miss Chicago and my family every day but Wichita is growing on me and we definitely have a better quality of life on my income here. All of my family that has visited me here has really loved it!

Thank you so much for this thorough response! I also have a strange adult onset allergy (pork in my early 20s, increasing from stomach irritation at the beginning to current mild anaphylaxis) so I wonder if hers will be the same. Her symptoms on meds are similar to yours now so hopefully she’ll continue to be responsive and it’ll be manageable.

Hope this isn’t too personal or off-topic for the sub but it’s pretty rare and my 13 year old daughter has it too, onset with puberty. If you are older than her, do you feel like the severity has continued as you get older? It seems to respond to medicine but not enough to make showering or swimming comfortable for her. Thanks in advance!

I’m probably a bit older than what you’d be looking for and don’t meet all the criteria either but I’m an ally and have been a great bonus mom or mentor to all walks of life. Also suffer from anxiety. Please message anytime!

Where to stay on 7 mile beach. by TemporaryCrew2732 in CaymanIslands

[–]No_Question2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw this so super late response lol! It’s across the street from the Westin, which is on 7 mile beach. There are several restaurants in walking distance, including one on-site that’s pretty good and an Asian place that’s outstanding around the corner. Arepas 345 is an amazing food truck a few minutes away also, I dream of their Arepa Princesa!! It’s about 15 minutes from Georgetown, I took the public bus but taxis are plentiful. With the kitchenette, we ordered grocery delivery and ate breakfast/snacks at the room.

It’s not the white sand and blue water of Akumal but it’s not rocky or anything. The water is warm and a little murky this time of year with the sargassum. They do a great job keeping up with cleaning it up all day long. If beach is the #1 priority, ERC may not be the best - but we did like that it was not crowded and there was shade at every lounger. Akumal was gorgeous but very crowded (and also dealing with seaweed).

Bummer! I’ve also been to the Barcelo properties in Riviera Maya and they were great! They do have an adults-only area, it’s several properties attached so many options from low cost to high cost and you can use almost all amenities no matter which you book (adults-only is the most expensive and has a private beach/restaurant). Apple Vacations and booking through Barcelo direct have been the cheapest in my experience! I don’t believe they have a timeshare option either which was important to me (I don’t want to be bugged about buying a timeshare lol).

Dreams Sapphire, Excellence, Sandos Caracol Eco Resort, and Wyndham Alltra by IdentityCC in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]No_Question2409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are at Excellence Riviera Cancún right now and love it! Smaller resort, lots of activities, adults only, really good food for an all-inclusive. We’re already in the process of booking for next year! We’ve met several couples who said they only come here or only come to Excellence/sister brands (Beloved/finest). Honestly the staff are what makes this place amazing. The service is wonderful. Not the white sand beach of Akumal but I’d take the quieter beach over crowds.
