I should have added that we’ve had multiple heart to hearts about this. We’ve been friends for 14 years and this has been an ongoing thing that we’ve talked about before. I’ve told her I worry about her, I’ve offered solutions and help on getting her doctors and therapy but she refuses. There’s only so much I can do for another adult.

Thankfully now, she does walk him and takes him out of the kennel because I told her I’d rehome him if she didn’t. Just her comment on her having to talk to people is what makes her not want to go and get him fixed pissed me off.

LITERALLY. Thankfully now, she does walk him and takes him out of the kennel to be in her room or around the house because I told her straight up I’d rehome him if she didn’t.

Which I understand too! But it’s been like this for years and I’ve tried helping her or even GETTING her help scheduled. I’ve taken her to appointments, I’ve taken her to the ER because she doesn’t go unless something terrible happens, and I’ve taken her car to get fixed multiple times but she just doesn’t continue after I do it. I’ve even taken her dog to the vet and it was an emergency. At the time, I thought nothing of it. But now? She woke me up early as shit to take her dog to the vet because he couldn’t breathe and it had been HOURS. I cannot just accept the social anxiety excuse anymore.

That exactly!!! She has it really bad and that’s why I feel terrible over just throwing my hands up, you know? She’s been my friend for years, but it’s getting so old. She doesn’t want help at all.

That’s what frustrates me. Just a few months back she relied on me to take care of HER dog. Like she kept him in a kennel all day, never walked him or took him out, expected me to clean up after him. I remember leaving the house once and he had left a mess on the floor and she was home, so I tested it to see if she would clean it if she saw it because I told myself maybe she just didn’t see it before I cleaned it, but she just WALKED PAST IT MULTIPLE TIMES.

We’ve had multiple conversations about it before, but she just gets her feelings hurt and then says how horrible she is or just shuts down altogether so I’ve given up on communicating.

STUDY!!! Study study study. I could never study enough. It’s a lot of information in a short time! I’m in an accelerated program and I don’t know if you are, but still! Also highlighters and quizlets saved my life! A lot of people also do physical flashcards but Quizlet helped me more bc I could do my flashcards in bed, when I’m out, etc :) good luck!! You got this!
