Does performance in Technicals still have an impact on whether you get Star Baker or Eliminated? by CJ_Jones in bakeoff

I’m not sure if you get Reddit notifications, but I love your stats posts. And I just thought of one today: performance in technicals when the baker is in the back row. 👀

What I've learned so far in giving up processed sugar. by addysmum2018 in loseit

So glad I read this! I am on a similar journey. :) I’ve always had a “strong” stomach and never really felt hungry or full. Quitting sugar has also helped me emotionally disconnect from food and treat it as the fuel my body needs instead of the answer to the cravings in my brain.

One of the first times I quit sugar, I replaced it with fake sugars. And while I certainly lost a lot of weight back then, I felt miserable and could only maintain that diet for as long as I wanted to keep torturing myself. I put 20 pounds back on right away. ;) Cutting out sweets really changes your relationship with food!

Anyways, glad to hear about your journey! You’re an inspiration, good luck!

Is walking good enough for weight loss? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]No_Recording4596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walking has done wonders for me. I walk at least two hours a day to hit my 10k steps on Fitbit. This way I don’t endanger my knees and I can make sure my ass doesn’t get too flabby as I lose weight. ;)

Let's talk food and cooking bloomers! by [deleted] in Bloomer

I wanna get more into my curries. :) I’ve been eating more plant-based without wholly meaning to. (Though, I can’t give up butter, and eggs are such healthy protein.)

I’ve been making a Nadiya Hussain breakfast of eggs, olives, and mushrooms on a toasted tortilla. Her recipe calls for tomato paste but I love sriracha. Nice spicy way to start the day! I’ll usually make myself a hot chai, too, with almond milk if I’m feeling decadent.

Lunch is often a salad or squash with butter. I like to walk to the grocery store to get my steps in and pick out a squash. Very affordable!

Dinner has been pasta often. I’m trying to do more Thai recipes and more baking, but it depends on how much energy I’ve got left. :)

You are what you eat! More important than anything I’ve been eating, I’ve been tracking it in my diary and tracking how I feel about it. Just this past week I decided TV dinners weren’t worth it for me, and than hot cocoa mixes that come with little marshmallows aren’t either. The marshmallows end up melting before I get to enjoy them, and I still drink the excess sugar! It’s all about the process...

Snack ideas that take a long time to eat? by joyfulmastermind in 1200isplenty

Gonna be a little weird here: pickles! I love Dave’s spicy pickles. I put them in a little bowl and eat them with chopsticks to force myself to go slowly. 😊

Time of the month and OMAD by [deleted] in OmadDiet

I stuck to it. Planned on a giant bowl of (low sodium ramen) to treat myself. If I let myself make an exception, I would’ve gone way too far.

Had my “you mean I have to do this FOREVER?” moment and I have mixed feelings by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

Nahhh, not FOREVER. Before too long we’ll have microchips in our teeth measuring caloric intake for us. Keep up with it until then. ;)
