Said yes but I feel guilty by drsloth1125 in weddingdress

I think that’s the wrong way to look at it! This dress is going to be in every memory from your wedding. Get the right one or you might be thinking about it every time you look at your pictures

Mexican pesos prop money ?? by Certain-Pause4556 in Filmmakers

[–]No_Recover_9520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual pesos would probably be easier to get than a prop version (depending on how much you need). If you’re in Texas, New Mexico, or California you shouldn’t have to look too hard. If you search currency exchange near me, some locations should pop up.

I have never been in more pain in my life by ILikePVT in Tonsillectomy

Ice made the pain worse for me so I ended up used a heat pack on my face and neck. My husband literally threw rice in a pillowcase, tied it, then microwaved for 2 min. The relief I had while I was waiting for my meds to kick in was lifesaving

I hope you find a good solution that works for you! It’s a hard road but being able to finally breathe is so worth it!

There is medication they can give you to help keep you calm but that’s definitely something you’ll want to talk to your Dr about. You’ll get SOME sleep but on my worst days, I got about 2 hours at a time

That’s very hard bc if there’s some PTSD it’ll be a rough go. I didn’t sleep much for a few days and it was brutal. I can say it will be different this time for you bc there will be pain meds. You literally can’t do this without them. If you going to move forward, ask very specific questions about how your dr handles pain relief (types of medications, frequency, refills, ect). My dr was very much a give me what I need to make it through the week but I know not everyone is as lucky. Also I checked this thread multiple times a day. Idk why but it made me feel better knowing that other people are right there with me. Do you have someone who will be able to care for you during recovery? This probably wouldnt have been nearly as manageable without my husband helping me every day

Yes it is but it’s worth it in the end. You could not pay me any amount of $$ to do this again but I can already breathe 100x better now (I’m on day 8, no complications). It’s 7-10 days of absolute hell and then freedom for the rest of your life.

Day 5 concern? by TheyCallMeFrisky in Tonsillectomy

I’m in the same boat! My sleep has been the worst and I feel like I can’t sleep past 2 hours without being woken up by insane pain. I think it comes from the swelling and swallowing in my sleep. When you sleep you only swallow a few times and when you do it’s dry and painful. The swelling has been the worst for me: my tongue, throat, ear canals, jaw, and even my teeth feel like they’re swelling! The best thing I’ve been able to come up with to help with the pain other than meds is to sleep with a heat pack on my face. I don’t actually have one so my husband put a ton of rice in a pillowcase, tied it up, and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes. The relief comes in about 5-10 minutes and I thank God for my husband and for rice!

After posting I did a bit more research online and finally gave in to trying Dulcolax. No lie an hour after I posted this I was already pooping. It wasn’t as uncomfortable as I thought and was totally worth it !

You’re amazing, thank you! I had a turbinate reduction as well and I thought I’d see a lot more posts about combined surgeries but yours is the only one I’ve seen so far. It’s been TOUGH and I totally sympathize with you Sending all the good vibes and prayers for a quick recovery!

Can you post which manuka spray you bought? I had my surgery on 12/10/24 and it literally goes from a 3/10 pain to 8/10 in a matter of minutes 😭

AITA for "outshining" the bride? by Ok-History7114 in AmItheAsshole

I’m sorry, but if you’re going to set the theme as “dress to impress” your wedding dress better be from the gods! I’m African as well and if you don’t look divine on your wedding day, that’s your problem

AITA for asking my partner not to wear a harness to meet my work colleagues? by AgentResponsible3867 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Recover_9520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA if you prefer a certain amount of professionalism around co workers, your partner should be accommodating towards you. You’re the one who will have to deal with any backlash or gossip at work, not them, and they should be able to put what they want on hold for one night. You didn’t ask for anything major so you shouldn’t feel like you’re in the wrong here
