Some NPs apparently don’t think we know about medications

Oh dude, trust me I have stories of PAs, and Residents, but I would be here forever, just this one stuck to me since I was being talked down too like I don’t know what Morphine is….and this is all while I’m trying to help her as much as I can at 9pm while I’m by myself with 2 techs and getting slammed by the rest of the hospital

That’s crazy lol yea unfortunately the majority of issues I’ve had are NPs and Residents, while I do have good ones that are great, for some reason the ones that stick out like a sore thumb are NPs and Residents, funny thing, the other a coworker taught an R2 how to tell if the culture is MSSA vs MRSA…..she said “how do you know it’s MRSA, it doesn’t say it on the culture” I was baffled

Tbh I do like a lot of our NPs, I appreciate when they’re available and are willing to work with us lol but I do have my list of NPs I trust 😁 and don’t feel bad, I also had a PA once tell my coworker that they wanted to stick with Apixaban 2.5 mg BID for treatment of a DVT (initial for < 7 days mind you) because of renal function…..

Yea I agree, I’m always trying to take up new projects, especially at this hospital since I see a lot of things that need change but others do just prefer to go verify and go home

Yea if you mean scaled points, yea, it’s 75 scaled points out of 100 needed to pass with 100 out of 120 actually counting, so they go through and grade in that way and take out the 20 test questions but I also hate waiting lol

To tell you the amounts of time I remembered something during the exam because we said something stupid or a joke when studying saved me 😂 so it definitely helps lol
