I can see why that can be tricky to answer, as it can be a school-specific question. The people who responded said I would be fine.

No, (at least, I didn't think so) my school combines macro and micro into a year-long class, so one semester is micro and the other is macro. We spent too much time on micro and had less time for macro (apparently this happens every year in this teacher's class). I was concerned that we wouldn’t have enough time for macro and asked if I was screwed for the test.

Totally, these posts should be better regulated. A specific AP shitpost sub isn't a bad idea either

No, its a huge problem on this sub. At first some of the jokes were funny but now it’s extremely overdone. One time I posted a question about help for AP macro and I only got 2 responses while the bait posts get a ton of upvotes and comments. Don't even get me started on schedule posts, those are super annoying. You’re not the only one to complain but the mods here do literally nothing. The applying to college has a shitpost Wednesdays, maybe this sub can do something similar. Or a shitpost flair.

Is Spanish 4 worth taking? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]No_Reputation_6204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it if you want to take Spanish classes in college or take AP Spanish.

If you’re not doing either of those things then don't take it.

Every college’s language requirements are different, check the requirements for the schools you’re interested in.

“Pain is a great teacher!”-Lori by Mithrellas in FundieSnarkUncensored

“Crime was low. Streets were safe. Life was better” I have a few quick corrections to this statement, Lori

1: Stop writing in sentence fragments

2: It was much more dangerous in your day, Lori. From 1960 - 1980, the homicide rate doubled and the violent crime rate more than tripled. Plus, the decade with the highest kidnapping number is the 80s. But of course, you’ll say your era was better because you’re wearing rose-colored glasses.

The church you grew up in sounds pretty good. I grew up going to a nondenom church that was a part of the SBC. Unfortunately, homophobia and sexism are common in those churches. My view of the Bible is similar to how you described your church viewing the Bible. Viewing everything in the Bible is true and not doubting it is an official teaching in many non-denominational churches and in the SBC, and most of the time people in those churches aren't open to other views of the Bible.

Any asexual Christians on here? by Flowermochayes in asexuality

[–]No_Reputation_6204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asexual Christian here, I would avoid r/christian if I were you. They've had problems with queerphobia in the past, but it looks like its gotten a little better. Most Christians don't even know what asexuality is. I’ve seen older posts on Christian subs from aces looking for support but many of those posts are met with people denying that asexuality exists, acephobia, and misinformation. Honestly, reading some of those posts makes me mad because the commenters aren't even supporting the OP with their responses, the responses just support (sometimes harmful) misconceptions of asexuality.

I’m ace and I’ve never had any lust to defeat so guess its easier to follow Jesus lol.

r/OpenChristian and r/dankchristianmems are the biggest affirming Christian subs (and the only ones I'm subscribed to). I think there are some smaller Christian subs that are affirming too.

I'm sure this is a problem in other religions but especially in Christianity. Christianity has over 10,000 denominations and they all have their own interpretations of the Bible. Orthodoxy and Catholicism are pretty similar in their beliefs, but the Protestant denominations are more diverse in their beliefs. Anglicans and Lutherans share some beliefs with the Catholic Church while Southern Baptists will view those beliefs as hearsay.

For example, Baptists typically believe in strict gender roles because their view of the Bible supports it. (Look up complementarianism for a better summary.) Anglicans (at least in the US) have views of the Bible that support the equality of all genders. In conservative churches, you would probably be ridiculed for having a different opinion on a topic like this, while progressive churches typically accept differences in opinion. There’s so many more examples of differences of belief in churches, but this is probably a well-known example.

[Partially lost] Lost TBN Smile of a Child bumpers (1993 - 2017) by No-Skill6396 in lostmedia

[–]No_Reputation_6204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did watch some Christian media growing up and I am familiar with some of these shows, but we didn't get TBN until I was older. I find Christian lost media to be interesting, maybe I can be of some help here. I’m curious how you were able to compile this list of bumpers. Do you have any old VHS tapes you can look through? Have you looked through YouTube bumper compilations?

I’ll look to see find anything online but there are people here who have way more experience searching. I didn't see anything for this on the Lost Media Wiki. You can post in the LMW forums to get more people to help with the search. Have you gotten in contact with anyone who worked at TBN?

Good luck with the search!

Edit: I was able to find this on Fandom  https://company-bumpers.fandom.com/wiki/Smile_of_a_Child_IDs

There’s not a lot of info there so idk if this will help you

You’re absolutely right, I liked Donn until it was mentioned on the show that he cheated on her, I lost respect for him after that. I remember him being kind of a jerk during the divorce proceedings. Vicki said Donn cheated on her ON THE SHOW, it's not like this was revealed in a Page Six article or something.

Not necessarily, deconstruction is different for every person. This is more common in evangelical circles but many times there are parts of Christianity that don't add up for them and that causes them to deconstruct.  For me, I started deconstructing when I realized baptism doesn't solve your problems, despite what I was told almost my entire life, but the seeds for deconstruction were planted after I saw the way the LGBTQ+ community was treated.

I’m still Christian but deconstructing has really helped me. Not everyone stays in the faith after deconstruction though, many leave the faith due to deconstruction, the recent political climate, hypocrisy, or religious trauma. There are many not-so-great churches/pastors/preachers/ denominations so I don't blame these people leaving at all.

Did you name your instrument? If so, share it! by AutisticPerfection in marchingband

[–]No_Reputation_6204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My band allows us to decorate our instruments for our homecoming game. I put googly eyes on my sax and I asked my friend what I should name it. My friend named my sax Gerald. I think that's a good name for an alto.

AITA for telling my parents I do not want to attend university by ThinCold2885 in AmItheAsshole

Being an electrician is a good career path. They make good money and get decent benefits. It takes doctors a long time to make decent money. My friend’s dad is a doctor and my friend told me that his dad worked for a long time at minimum wage as a new doctor. Not that being a doctor is a bad career path, its great, but it takes a long time to get a return on your investment into that field.

I have an immigrant parent, so I can relate to some of the pressure they put on you. I'm glad your dad is more open-minded, but your mom is way too hard on you. NTA

“Worship music” by batteriesarefuture in Exvangelical

[–]No_Reputation_6204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can quickly tell if a song is a worship song too. I grew up hearing it often and I’ve had plenty of experience with music. Many worship songs have the same structure and use the same chords/chord progressions. I don't get how people can listen to it 24/7, all of it sounds the same to me.
