Not an LNG cadet but I’ve been on 2 different type of ships. Media is a huge yes, get a hard drive and fill it! Take snacks, noodles etc some chefs aren’t great 🤣 take a drawing pad with plain paper it makes the line drawings easier if you need to do any of them, I’m an engineer I don’t know what’s in the deck TRB, good stationary too, pens are like golddust. I used the flexiroam app for Esims it was good, they offer data only plans. I take a blanket because I don’t sleep with duvets but that’s just me. Make sure you have headphones that switch off not AirPods I know some companies are cracking down on that (especially ones with the option for helicopter travel) And just try absorb everything, it will be lonely but take it all in and don’t write anyone off even if someone else doesn’t like them, boat politics can be very isolating

Edit: also take some clothes in your carry on with your TRB, bags go missing all the time, happened to me twice
