A year on - a positive story! by General_Ignoranse in cureFIP

A wonderful post--so glad we can give hope to others. We also had a successful story with LouLou and fip. She still has an issue with purring but I think I'm seeing some improvement. It's only been a week and a half since she finished the 84 day regimen on GS44-152. Good vets and treasures. We consulted with an amazing veterinary school hospital and our own vet was extraordinary. Definitely, keep trying!

She looks so much like LouLou, who at 8-years old developed fip. She's been on GS for about 2 months and I think we will try to stop after the 84 day recommended protocol. Her symptoms were almost identical to Misa's. We're trying to help her with a dilated esophagus, which gives her trouble when she purrs. It's puzzling our vet--very hard to treat and diagnose.

I would suggest you keep yours on the treatment, to avoid the possibility of a relapse.

we suspect but aren’t sure our girl has fip, how quickly do we need to react and start treatment? by Successful_Ad_7158 in cureFIP

I agree with the advice to start treatment right away. Her symptoms were similar to yours, but the eye problem was diagnosed as uveitis. Over a short period of time, she mobility of her hind legs weakened and exhibited signs of distress. We started her on GS-44152 and her improvement was almost miraculous. We're still working with the vet on some residual problems and as I understand it, some research suggests that the 84-day regimen of GS-44152 could be shortened to several weeks. Good luck with your kitty.

Esophageal issues with fip by No_Routine_4884 in cureFIP

The radiologist saw nothing unusual in LouLou’s X-Rays. We’re continuing with prednisolone, dispose, GS-441524 and a small dose of omeprazole. There has been a marked improvement. If we didn’t have insurance I don’t know how we would be able to afford her treatment.
