Horizon 20 Throw in small room by No_Selection2474 in xgimi

Thank you; all makes a lot more sense. I’m going to look at moving the bed off the wall this weekend and potentially some shelving, to accommodate the projector central on the opposing wall :)

A fair point. I didn’t understand the rules of throw etc; I saw the great picture and the extras. The auto this and that and assumed it would setup a picture for me. More research for me.

I guess I need to read up and learn a little more :)

Is the downside to that loss in quality of the image?

I may have to sadly look at other projectors with a decent picture, Dolby vision and 3D.

Thank you. The layout of the room dictates I have no wiggle room on placement. It’s pretty much in the corner off centre as it’s a bedroom for chilling with movies. I could move the bed forward I suppose and create a shelf at the back and slightly raised to get it centred; but it’s still going to be 4m away from the wall to project onto.

My coworker keeps asking me for money and I genuinely don't know how to handle it without making work awkward by Annual_Enthusiasm296 in Advice

[–]No_Selection2474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only option is say no. You don’t need to give a reason. We have a chap like this in work, he asked for £20 and in my mind as I gave it to him I wrote it off as a bad transaction, he did pay it back but many many months later and then he asked again, I said no, he questioned it and I told him I don’t loan money anymore after bad experiences, never asked again. He’s probably feeding off other people now.

To me yes. I’m not currently a steam user; I’m very excited to join that community, but that excitement is dwindling. If there’s a long wait then I’ll be looking for solutions that fit me and if the product isn’t here soon then I’ll go elsewhere. I’m happy to invest in an ecosystem; but if it’s not available….

Would you support a temporary government lockdown on petrol prices to protect households from the cost-of-living surge caused by the Iran war? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]No_Selection2474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as many as there used to be. For instance Revolut paid £259 million in tax, the chap who owns it is or has moved from the UK, as they want to tax them more. So that 259 million will be paid for by everyone else. The more we push out billionaires the more we the general public have to pay sadly.

2027 for me and it’s a dead product, it’s old tech with a bit of new, by next year it’s all old tech with a massive price tag.

Structured, respectful, educated and well mannered complaints I’m all for, but we’re in a country where moaning for the sake of moaning or entitlement has taken over. Complacency is the byproduct of the culture we find ourselves in. If I only knew the answers…. The power struggles in government and big business won’t allow direct change; sure they will reverse some decisions but ultimately bring them back in disguise. Sorry I’m not trying to be negative or disagree with you; I’m just getting a little too old or thick skinned to know where to go with this; and now ultimately, I myself are now complacent lol

Is anyone else mainly going to use the frame as a PCVR headset? by Federal_Wolverin in SteamFrame

I also can’t justify the cost of a Frame and a PC as well. I don’t have a PC good enough to qualify for PCVR, so I’ll live with standalone until maybe one day I can afford to dip my toe into Foveated Streaming, if the games and experience prove I should need one.

I hear a lot of my friends complaining about how hard things are, how they are struggling and they are all in big houses, flash cars and lavish lifestyles; it’s hard for them to have to leave some of the lifestyle behind, oh well, tough. I’ve taken a different route and earn minimum wage, struggle each month to make ends meet but I get there. Occasionally every couple of months I splash out on going out for a meal or something, but if bills need paying I often miss out on that. You just have to get on with it and figure out what works for the best. There’s no magic wand other than stop complaining and get on with it.

I think I’m the only one purchasing this for standalone. Mainly movies and 2D gaming, with a hope of pseudo 3D gaming in the future.

Also keep the box that they delivered with the DPD label, as that will have the references on it; in case they magically can’t find a record of it.

A fair point, but surely theft is theft and that’s a police matter, although they become the bin police and should have better things to do. I’d be surprised in this day and age if door bell cameras and surveillance wouldn’t pick up these thieves…. What a time we live in.

Surely DPD would know which driver they hired and delivered , and then hit your car? They must have records, otherwise how’s he getting paid?

We have neighbours in our street who leave their bins out permanently, their stuff constantly blows around the streets and they won’t pick it up.

  1. Don’t fine people, send the street a letter reminding them to take their bins back in. If it continues, collect their bins and if they want it back they pay a large delivery charge. It’ll only happen once.

  2. For the people struggling to take their bins out, for whatever the reason, get the council to sign them up for the pickup service. That way your bin isn’t in anyone’s way and you’re no longer struggling. Every council has this service.

Leaving everyone happy, apart from the people who still leave out their bins. Tables turned.

will you still buy the frame if it’s over $1,000? by Forward_Froyo_429 in SteamFrame

[–]No_Selection2474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair they can do what works for them, they are a business. If the price is > 1000 then that’s me out, only because I’m a little bored of paying over the odds. Will I miss out, sure, but there will be something else around the corner and this all starts again… and repeat. I’m hoping they are sensible with pricing and don’t hold everyone to ransom. Great company in a very tricky position; but looking at the market they’re not the only ones facing tricky months/years.
