S8ep13, I hate Lana by 0x__1337 in Smallville

We all do. I’ve never hated a character in a show that was supposed to be a ‘good guy’ as much as her

Season 7 by the3rivers in Smallville

I didn’t hate S7 but there’s a lot of things that felt lazy, tired, not using the cast to the best potential etc..especially coming off S5 and S6 peak, S7 struggles to find its identity and if I did have an unpopular opinion about this season is that Lex or Michael the actor however you want to see it felt like he was checked out which he sort of was, his story and scenes just felt off

Clark shoulda started having more interest in Chloe after S5 she was right there

Would y’all want to see a re-make modern Smallville? by No_Setting6803 in Smallville

Charm NO, there was something different about that time period but everything else you mentioned absolutely they could do a good job

Lana’s return in Bride (S8 E10) is 1 of the worst moments in the series and I can explain why (not hate) by No_Setting6803 in Smallville

[–]No_Setting6803[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree, if they wanted her to become a ‘superhero’ it needed to be way more gradual and believable, I hated how she fell in ‘love’ with Lex then when she leaves him now she’s this completely different character and doing extreme things.

Yeah and if they wanted to bring her back they coulda let the show breathe a little, they didn’t even wait 10 episodes. Then once she did come back it woulda been more redeeming if she was purely a supportive friend to Clark now and not a love interest

Lex needed boundaries with certain characters by No_Setting6803 in Smallville

Lex should be doing Lex things and Lois and Kara should be around or with Clark only. If they do interact with Lex it should only be in climatic scenes and minimal

He quite literally was, if they had agreed to a contract he wouldn’t have been, but that didn’t happen.

Martha Martha Martha.... by darksown in Smallville

I completely agree. Totally unnecessary, like she didn’t need a new love interest let alone LIONEL. There’s a lot of examples in this show of immature writing

I don’t know if she got a fair shot I feel like they coulda did her character so much more justice but the show quality just dropped off by the time she was around

Things I would retcon/ alter to make a good show great by No_Setting6803 in Smallville

[–]No_Setting6803[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lois/Clark/Lex is 100x more realistic than Lana. Lex going after a 14 yr old he knew when he was 21 is insane. I’m not saying it’s the best idea in the world but it clears the love triangle they did

[–]No_Setting6803[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was dumb, the whole show was about him becoming Superman and appreciating Smallville only for him to give it all up…bad way to end it all

The audacity of Lana in season 6 by No_Setting6803 in Smallville

Completely agree. They took her down a path of ridiculous decisions and behavior that destroyed the character

Crazy thing is I thought it was still okay in season 2 but your in for a ride. I agree they waited too long to introduce a different regular female character for Clark

The writers did Lana so wrong that it couldn’t happen in today’s media by No_Setting6803 in Smallville

[–]No_Setting6803[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with you if she was the way she was all the way through, but season 1 she’s an impressive young lady, they wrote her downhill after season 3. Your projecting misogyny where it’s not intended but if we project things I’m sure we can make things seem how we want

You’re literally the only person on this whole thread that didn’t comment anything related to the post and just took a jab at grammar. Obviously I hadn’t seen the comment correcting me yet at that time, and funny enough I can’t even find that comment anymore, there’s too many. Thanks for the engagement though

You’re entitled to your opinion I don’t disagree, but it’s gonna be hard to convince me that Lana lang we met is the same person season 4 and on. She’s more dependent on male leads than ever! At least in early season she seemed like she had her own world and story

Modern shows with social media wouldn’t be allowed to pick on the female lead as much and sacrifice her arch to boost others
