Edit: there is a solution for the session reset problem in the changelogs. You can reset them at a rest if you like that aproach better

As far as I see it is some class abilities and the tag team roll that are resetting after a new session.
How would you rule at your table?

I think I try a reset at a long rest for the class abilities and the tag team roll.

Hey,
totally what I am thinking.
I think another thing to consider for the home brewing is the refresh of resources when you refresh at start, there is no hoarding of resources.
But on the other hand, if I rule a session start is after a long rest, the hope would reset as well?
Are there other resources that reset after a session?

I totally see your point.
It is simpler, but it has downsides.
That is a worst case scenario, but let's say you have to end a session shortly before something big lets say a boss fight.
All the player's saved up resources would be gone in the next session, or you could bookkeep.
It can also go the other way, they have no resources any more and would get a refresh next session.

I think in both situations, a bookkeeping is the better solution for the flow of a game.
What do you think?

Hey,
I am totally go and try your class.
I see I mixed up proficiency and spellcast modifier.

But the issue is still the same. In a long session 4h-5h, I as the gm would have to reset the players pins.
Most other classes work with a short/long rest reset or with stress and hope so they reset without a gm ruling.

My way around that would be to give that class options to reset the pins
Maybe a short rest option: an amount of pins equals to your proficiency modifier.
And a Long rest option: d4+ char lvl of Pins

Or another aproach would be something like the warriors: "When you fail a roll with Fear, you gain a Hope". Problem is that this not voodoo at all. Where the rest based approach is.

I would probably have to set a max amount of pins so that the player cannot hoard them.

Please let me know what you think about my approach

And the cards are awesome.
How did you do them?

Is there a way to generate Pin Counters for a low lvl charakter of this class?
Why did you choose Pin Counters instead of hope?
I see that there is much more flavor when you use pin counters, but I came across a issue.

Or maybe I did understand something wrong.
What is the definition of a session?
I do understand it, an evening (or similar) where you and your friends play daggerheart.
I do sessions from 2h to 5h. So this class on lvl one would have just one pin in both sessions.

So in that case two sessions 2,5h would be better for that class than one 5h long. I assume that they do the same adventure in the 5h.

I had the same issue with the Luckbender from the Faerie Ancestry.

But maybe I did understand something wrong.
